BBC Antiques Road Trip expert's savage seven-word dig at crowd during tense auction
Antiques Road Trip returned this afternoon as two experts explored some incredible vintage shops in Lincolnshire.

During today's Antiques Road Trip, experts Izzie Balmer and Mark Hill were on leg two of their east-coast expedition, exploring Lincolnshire for timeless treasures they hoped to sell at auction. Izzie took a shine to a variety of unique items, whereas Mark uncovered an inky pot shaped like a bird. When they were not shopping, the pair took a trip on a former troop transport which helped the UK get the potato to market. After purchasing a series of vintage objects, the pair were ready to go head-to-head at auction. Before long, Izzie branded her first auctioned item "a bit of a poop" after making just £1 profit from it. Mark had an equally depressing attempt at making a profit, as no one seemed to want to pay much for his mid-century crockery set, which he paid £18 for.

It sold for a depressing £10 in the end, with Izzie admitting: "It's a tough crowd today." Mark savagely replied: "Well, I hope they choke on a carrot." He quickly added: "I don't... obviously."
Despite the setback, Mark was hopeful about his stunning Art Deco photoframe, which he paid £20 for, and he ended up making a profit as it sold for £40 at auction.
Later on, his appealing golden ink pot parrot, which he paid £50 for, was sold for just £55, giving him a £5 profit. As Izzie said, people don't seem to use fountain pens anymore.
Next, Izzie's clown figurine sold for a loss of £2, whereas Mark's Victorian bottle, which he paid £85 for, sold for £110. However, she made a £24 profit on her final item, which was a striking green vase.

Mark's final item made a £28 profit, and it happened to be a tiny toothpick. He appeared thrilled following the shocking results for many of his other items, which went to auction that afternoon.
Following the auction, the pair tallied their earnings to determine who had won the episode. Izzie started with £200 and after auction costs, ended up with a tiny loss of -£9.10p. However, Mark made a slightly smaller loss of -£4, making him the programme's victor.
He cheekily told Izzie after she congratulated him: "It's all about the toothpick..."
