Netflix’s Big Mistakes cast from Schitt’s Creek legend to iconic horror villains

Netflix’s new crime-comedy series Big Mistakes is an essential watch for subscribers and it’s hitting screens in a matter of days.

The chaotic eight-part sitcom is arriving this Thursday, 9th April, and has been co-created by Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott (I Love LA).

It follows two incompetent siblings who get wrapped up in local organised crime when they pull off a minor heist to secure a gift for their dying grandmother.

A recently released trailer has given fans their first taste of the hilarity coming to Netflix soon and introduced viewers to the dysfunctional family at the centre of the action.

But where will fans recognise the main cast from? Let’s take a look at some of the show’s biggest names.

Inside the main cast of Netflix’s Big Mistakes

The series is being led by its co-creator, Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, who portrays a priest named Nicky. He gets wrapped up in a blackmail scheme after his sister, Morgan (played by Taylor Ortega), steals a necklace.

Levy is also known for appearances in the Christmas rom-com Happiest Season and in the final season of Sex Education. He also directed and starred in the comedy-drama film Good Grief.

Meanwhile, Ortega is a rising star with Big Mistakes being her most high-profile role to date, though fans may recognise her from an episode of Succession as well as for portraying the villain Shego in Disney’s Kim Possible movie.

Emmy-winning star Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird) also joins the main cast as Nicky and Morgan’s mother, Linda. Metcalf has appeared in a wide range of popular films and TV series, including Roseanne and The Conners and the Scream franchise. She has also lent her voice to Treasure Planet and the Toy Story series.

Another major player in the series is Abby Quinn, who portrays Nicky and Morgan’s sister Natalie. Horror fans are likely to know Quinn as one of the villainous home invaders in M. Night Shyamalan’s apocalyptic thriller Knock at the Cabin.

The core cast is rounded out by Jack Innanen as Max and Boran Kuzum as Yusuf. Innanen has a main role in the FX comedy series Adults, while Kuzum is a Turkish star who is taking on one of his first major English-language projects with the new Netflix series.
