Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ who ran Cain over and it’s someone he knows well

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they've identified who struck Cain Dingle with their vehicle.
Cain (Jeff Hordley) has been a mainstay on the enduring ITV soap for 26 years - first appearing in 2000. As the troublesome village womaniser, Cain has established himself as a firm favourite with audiences over the years.
He's also featured in numerous major storylines as well. From his romance with cousin Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to his affair and eventual relationship with Moira (Natalie J. Robb), his period in the Dales has been far from lacking in drama.
Particularly at present, as lately, Cain discovered that he had an aggressive, though localised, prostate cancer, following his shooting in the epic Corriedale crossover episode in January.
Alongside his cancer diagnosis, Cain has also been grappling with wife Moira's wrongful incarceration. This week though, Cain was due to undergo an operation, during his cancer struggle, reports the Daily Star.
Yet, in Tuesday's episode (April 7), events took a profoundly dramatic twist when Cain was left for dead following being struck by a vehicle.
The soap hinted at the identity of the mysterious driver as Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) were all shown emotional or distracted before racing off in their respective cars.
Cain was positioned in the centre of the road, on the phone discussing his operation with Moira, when a vehicle struck him down, leaving him bloodied and unconscious on the ground. Moira meanwhile was left bewildered as to why Cain had suddenly stopped speaking to her.
And now, viewers are convinced they've identified who was driving. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, audiences have speculated it was Jacob, who has been facing difficulties at work as a medical student due to his bullying superior Dr Todd (Caroline Harker).
"I think it was Jacob who hit Cain," said one person. Someone else added: "Same here." Echoing their thoughts, a third loyal viewer chimed in: "100% sure it's Jacob."
Viewers will remember Jacob has endured a difficult period in recent weeks as his boss Dr Todd has been making his life miserable, highlighting his errors while also severely gaslighting him. Earlier in the day, she told him that he would never make it as a doctor.
