Amanda Knox, who was acquitted of the brutal murder of exchange student Meredith Kercher, is the subject of a new eight-part Disney+ series.
Originally from Seattle, Amanda shared a flat with 21-year-old Meredith in the Italian university city of Perugia. Amanda and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were initially found guilty of Meredith's murder, but their convictions were overturned on appeal in October 2011. They were convicted again in a 2014 retrial, before being acquitted by Italy's Supreme Court in 2015.
Amanda wrote a memoir titled Waiting to be Heard about the events that unfolded between 2007 and 2022, including her trial, conviction and exoneration. The self-penned novel has inspired Disney+'s new drama, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.
Grace Van Patten takes on the starring role, with Irish actress Sharon Horgan portraying Amanda's mother, Edda Mellas. Meanwhile Giuseppe De Domenico portrays Raffaele.
Given newfound interest in her case with the release of the drama, where is Amanda Knox now, and what has she been up to?

In January 2020, ahead of her nuptials, Amanda posted a photograph of herself wearing grey jogging bottoms, a blue jumper and beanie hat - essentially her former prison garb.
Amanda, who served four years behind bars from 2009, informed her followers: "40 days left until the wedding and 267 tasks left on the wedding To Do list. I've locked myself in the craftroom and I'm wearing my old prison uniform."
She added: "Literally the very same sweatshirt and sweatpants I lived in in Casa Circondariale Capanne, Perugia."
Space-themed wedding

In 2020, Amanda and her current spouse Christopher Robinson exchanged vows for the second time in an extraordinary space-themed ceremony at Elks Lodge in Burien, Washington, featuring a 'time machine' and 'bizarre centrepieces that will warp your concept of time'.
Rejecting a conventional bridal dress, Amanda chose flowing yellow trousers and a golden waistcoat, finishing her ensemble with glittering facial gems and hair styled in Princess Leia-inspired buns.
Complementing her striking appearance, Amanda's poet husband Christopher, who had popped the question with a fragment of meteorite, turned up sporting golden footwear and a cheerful yellow bow tie.
Maintaining the eccentric spirit of the Leap Day celebration, attendees appeared in space-themed fancy dress, whilst others donned Renaissance, medieval and toga-inspired garments.
The delighted pair, who had already wed in secret during December 2018, caused quite a stir when they launched a crowdfunding wedding registry website for their (second) celebration, established instead of a conventional gift list.
They declared: "Let's face it, we don't need any more stuff. So please, no gifts, and no pressure. But if you feel so inclined, we welcome help putting on the best party ever for our family and friends!"
Based on their desired contribution amount, supporters - who could have donated up to £8,000 if they chose - might fund 'extravagant alien food', special effects and fancy dress, with contributors receiving a copy of their collaborative poetry collection, The Cardio Tesseract, in appreciation.
Responding to some of the backlash they faced over the crowdfunding page, Amanda turned to social media platform X - previously Twitter - penning: "To those hating on us all day, you've been duped by the outrage machine. You gave ad $ to tabloids that profit by making you angry about things that don't matter. Our wedding will be crazy and fun and barebones if it needs to be, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter."
Pregnancy announcement

Back in August 2023, Amanda revealed she was expecting baby number two through a witty Instagram photograph showing her 'pregspreading' on a bench - a twist on the more familiar term 'manspreading'.
The image, which tags the Oxford English Dictionary, depicts the mum-to-be positioned with her legs stretched wide apart, clutching a beer bottle whilst displaying her growing bump beneath a green patterned jumpsuit.
During a November 29 instalment of her parenting podcast Younglings, Amanda disclosed that she had given birth to son Echo on September 23, calling him 'perfect'.
Discussing the distinctive name selection, Amanda explained: "When we were thinking of a name for baby number two, we wanted to keep going. We thought we had a really good method we thought Eureka was an awesome name.
"We started thinking of what are other exclamations that could potentially be names... So when we're thinking of like a name for a boy, Echo comes to mind in two ways, because 'ecco' in Italian means like 'behold' ... and you say echo to say 'echo, echo, echo."
Little Echo is the younger sibling of Amanda's daughter Eureka Muse, whose arrival she announced in October 2021, months after giving birth. Speaking openly with The New York Times, Amanda revealed that she'd kept Eureka a secret out of fear of 'the paparazzi bounty on her head'.
Expressing relief following her announcement, she remarked: "I will say I'm excited to not have to keep pretending not to be a mom. 'Cause it's like, my brain is just there."
