Megyn Kelly shuts down Donald Trump re-election forecast
FORMER Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly predicted that Donald Trump would not run for re-election again "if she had to put money on it".
GB News: Trump will 'not run' for another term says Megyn Kelly
American pundit and former Fox News presenter Megyn Kelly told GB News she does not believe Donald Trump will run for US president in 2024. The former US President teased a potential return to the political stage amid the criticism his successor Joe Biden has been facing over his withdrawal from Afghanistan. President Trump struck a deal with the Taliban in Doha before the end of his term, in which he promised US troops would be withdrawn from Afghanistan.
Ms Kelly told GB news: “All I can guess is that he doesn't actually want to go back into the White House, but he wants to keep the levers of control going.
“He likes very much keeping people on his leash and driving the national conversation.
“And he doesn't owe anyone anything in terms of not doing it.”
She went on: “And I don't think he loves it when another Republican gets more attention than he does.

“That's why he's the ratings king because he knows how to get attention and he came to know it because he's so good at it and he needs it.
“He is a sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Ms Kelly continued: “If I had to put money on it would say Trump's not gonna run.
“He's already won. And he lost the second election.
“He doesn't admit that, but I don't think he wants to set himself up for a third run.
She added: “That might not go his way.”
In an interview released on Tuesday, former President Trump teased a potential 2024 presidential run.
He said: “We won it twice. I've won it twice and now I have to win it again.

“I guess if we're going to save the country, look ... I'll make a decision.
“It won't be maybe for a little while. You know, a lot of people would like to see a decision immediately, but perhaps there's also a big group, including maybe myself, that would like to see it after the midterms.”
President Trump has continued to maintain he beat President Joe Biden in their runoff in November 2020 despite Mr Biden securing a larger section of both the popular vote and the Electoral College support needed to win the White House.
