Significant developments await Emmerdale viewers in the coming week, featuring dramatic revelations, discoveries and potentially explosive secrets coming to light. Two major episodes will spotlight different characters in special standalone instalments. Audiences will finally learn the full truth about Robert Sugden's (played by Ryan Hawley) six-year imprisonment, as it emerges he hasn't disclosed everything about his time behind bars.

Viewers can anticipate dramatic developments, with cast members suggesting surprising moments that even they weren't initially aware of. The official synopsis for this episode confirms it's a special instalment airing on Wednesday, during which Robert discusses his previous experiences in prison.

Promotional imagery for the week shows him receiving support from his sister, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), and his soulmate, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), while Robert's husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), appears distraught over something, leaving viewers wondering what revelations will emerge during the episode.

It has been confirmed that Kev appears in the episode, with scenes featuring Robert and Kev in prison, while also exploring Robert's incarceration from 2021 through to his release this year. Details remain closely guarded but dramatic revelations are expected.

Whether Robert confides in Aaron, Victoria, Kev, or another character remains undisclosed, though the promotional image suggests it could be the first two.

Regarding the week's second major episode, Bear's location is finally revealed, along with his ongoing storyline.

He receives a dedicated episode that finally reveals to audiences what the "uncontrollable situation" he has been confronting alone for several months is. He was last seen departing the village around July, with something clearly troubling him.

Bear had been behaving erratically, becoming aggressive towards others whilst appearing disoriented and forgetful. Concerned about his well-being, he disappeared and was dishonest about his whereabouts.

In upcoming episodes, viewers will discover what has happened in the days following his departure and his current location. The preview hints at a "descent into hard times" as the truth about recent months is revealed.

Meanwhile, his son Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) is preparing to notify the police about Bear's disappearance. However, when authorities suggest he's not at immediate risk, Paddy and his partner, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), choose to investigate themselves.

During a woodland walk, Paddy's daughter Eve becomes certain she's spotted her missing grandfather. Matty believes she's mistaken, thinking she's confused because they're playing a bear hunt game. But could Eve genuinely have seen Bear?

As Ross Barton (Michael Parr), the actual father of her unborn child, continues causing trouble and develops a closer bond with her husband Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb), Charity becomes worried when Mack reveals he and Ross share everything.
