Our Farm Next Door's Amanda Owen forced to act due to heatwave on Yorkshire farm
Our Yorkshire Farm and Our Farm Next Door star Amanda Owen was forced to leap into action this week.

Our Yorkshire Farm and now Our Farm Next Door star Amanda Owen was forced to act this week after a crippling problem caused by the heatwave threatened lives on her farm.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess, who has recently been starring in series 2 of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids on Channel 4, as well as Reuben: Life In the Dales on Channel 5, posted to her Instagram this week to explain how she’s had to battle the hot conditions up on Ravenseat. The usually cold and blustery remote hillside farm has not escaped the scorching hot weather that baked much of the UK to temperatures above 30C this past week.
Amanda took to Instagram to explain how she had to act to help her sheep in the heat.

She posted: “When it comes to woolly jumpers and fleeces, the heat is on and it’s time to lose the layers,” alongside photos of her shearing the sheep urgently.
The day before, Amanda had posted footage of three of her young girls playing in the river to beat the hot weather. She added: “Countryside, outdoors and in nature. All farmed places don’t forget. It’s where it’s at.”
In previous years, Amanda stunned her fans by stripping off to deal with the sunshine, donning a blue polka dot bikini to herd cows in the heatwave.
It comes as a sharp contrast to winters on the Yorkshire Dales farm, where the family often battle power cuts due to snow storms.
Last year, the mum of nine shared an update to her 530,000 Instagram followers showing two of their children gathered around the fire to warm up after losing all electricity to their home on Ravenseat.
Amanda had been forced to light the fire for warmth and turn to candles to light their home, underlining the risks of living in a remote rural farm setting. Amanda Owen posted: “No power. No problem,” and posted a snap of some of her youngest children gathered in front of the roaring fireplace at their Ravenseat farm, along with the hashtags #candlelight and #fire.
Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids has finished its second series on Channel 4 channel More 4, and has not yet been confirmed for a season 3.
Amanda and Clive’s eldest son Reuben Owen’s show, Reuben: Life In The Dales, has also finished its second series on Channel 5 and has not yet been confirmed to return either.
