Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver's 'disaster' after leaving UK

Coronation Street legend Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, took to social media to share her "disaster" after leaving the UK.

Corrie legend Sue Cleaver, famed for her role as Eileen Grimshaw, has been soaking up the sun following her "dream" stint as Mother Superior in Sister Act: The Musical.

While on Lorraine back in March, the 60 year old actress reassured fans about her return to the cobbles after her theatrical adventure, stating: "Yes absolutely. I have a few months grace to do this job then I'll be back in there."

Despite concluding her role in Sister Act last month, Sue is currently enjoying a break from the drama of Weatherfield, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. However, her beach getaway wasn't without its mishaps, as revealed in a social media video where she lamented the loss of her flip flops to the sea, humorously conceding: "You know sometimes I think the sea likes to show us who's in charge, but it's certainly not us. Because it's just swallowed my flip flops."

She pointed out to the ocean and sighed, "They're out there somewhere," according to the Mirror.

Reflecting on her return to the stage during her chat on Lorraine, Sue expressed her love for theatre and excitement at returning after three decades, exclaiming: "A chance to take on a role like this feels like heaven."

Lorraine couldn't contain her excitement at the news, openly expressing her adoration for the soap's veteran character Eileen and eagerly probing: "We need more from you."

Sue playfully suggested possibilities ahead, cheekily hinting: "I think George and Eileen should have a big old fashioned Corrie wedding."

She additionally disclosed to Lorraine her new outlook towards life, dubbing this as "her decade" and revealing that turning 60 has motivated her to "have fun", adding: "I feel very much on a journey."

The star, renowned for her stint on I'm A Celebrity, has made headlines lately with almost unrecognisable appearance owing to a significant health improvement and weight loss after revamping her lifestyle. The widely-adored soap actress has been frank about her weight loss journey, taking pride in losing three stone.

Fans shared their delight upon seeing Sue, many taking to social media to commend her transformed appearance. On the platform formerly known as Twitter, a fan gushed: "Sue Cleaver looking amazing. I did not recognise her."

Another followed suit, equally lavishing praise: "Sue Cleaver looks incredible! ".
