Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has joked that he is "speed dating" his ITV soap co-stars after meeting up with some of them for lunch.

The Tyrone Dobbs actor went on a "date" with Kirk Sutherland actor, Andy Whyment, as he branded him a "hunk". They beamed for a selfie together at their dinner table as Alan posted the snap alongside Elvis Presley's track 'A Big Hunk O' Love' to his Instagram Story and said: "Little brunch date... with this absolute hunk."

Andy also shared the picture to his own Instagram grid. Alongside the photo, he wrote: "Dinner date with @alanhalsall @thealchemistuk Media City before heading back to @coronationstreet."

A little while later Alan shared another snap with more of his ITV soap colleagues. He posed with Maureen Lipman, who plays cobbles' character Evelyn Plummer, and assistant script editor Gina Anderton.

Once again, he appeared to be out to lunch with his friends as he branded them "legends". Alan wrote: "Just speed dating Corrie legends today... Mo & @gina_anderton".

While Alan joked about dating his co-stars, not too long ago it was a reality. He recently split from his co-star girlfriend Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton.

At the time, a source said: "Alan and Tisha had a lot of love for each other and had really similar interests, enjoying socialising and going on holiday together. But they started to drift apart and feel the pressure of making their relationship work get on top of them. They realised they weren’t on the same page and splitting up felt like the best option.

“They’ve been focusing on themselves and surrounding themselves with their own friends. Tisha moved out of Alan’s home around a month ago and is throwing herself into work."

The couple met on set back in 2014 and started dating in 2019 when she left her role. The pair first sparked romance rumours back in January 2019 after they played an early morning game of badminton together.

A month later they fuelled further speculation after they were snapped together during a day out watching rugby, as fans said that they would "make a lovely couple".

The actor was also previously married to Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, as they tied the knot in 2009. However, the couple announced that they had separated back in 2016 – saying at the time they would remain close friends. They have one daughter together, Sienna Rae, who was born in 2013.
