The Boys teases Jensen Ackles reunion with Supernatural co-star that will 'break internet'
The Boys boss Eric Kripke has said he would like to see Jensen Ackles return to the Amazon Prime show alongside former co-star Jared Padalecki in an epic Supernatural reunion.
While The Boys creator Eric Kripke hasn’t yet confirmed the return of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, he has admitted he’d be keen to see him reunite with Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki for the Amazon Prime Show’s fifth and final season.
The Boys has already proved to be a popular home for many members of the Supernatural family, with Kripke casting the likes of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Billy Butcher’s (Karl Urban) old pal Joe Kessler.
Morgan had a huge role as family patriarch John Winchester in the CW show, while Jim Beaver - who plays presidential candidate Robert A. Singer - also played fatherly figure Bobby Singer in Supernatural.
However, the casting decision Kripke knows will drive fans wild is to bring in Padalecki, who played central character Sam Winchester opposite Ackles’ Dean Winchester for 15 years.
Padalecki has even previously stated that he's had conversations with the showrunner about a possible collaboration.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kripke confirmed that, "yeah, it's fair" to say the plan is for the actor to join The Boys in its final season.
He also coyly teased a reunion between Padalecki and Ackles, though he didn’t confirm it outright.
He said: “The value of that is to break the internet. So we'll see whether it's right for the story.
“But yes, it's occurred to me that putting those two in a scene together would destroy much of the world, and that's appealing."

Padalecki also recently told Deadline that he had discussed a possible role with Kripke just last week.
He shared: "I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever."
He even went as far as to say that his answer “would be yes” if it all came together in a way that worked for everyone.
The Boys Season 4, episode 5 entitled Beware the Jabberwock, My Son will air Thursday, June 27 2024 on Amazon Prime Video.
