Taylor Swift says it's 'humiliating' as hand locks up during gig

Taylor Swift issued an apology to her fans during the opening night of her highly-anticipated Eras tour at Edinburgh's Murrayfield, after experiencing a momentary 'freeze' on stage.

The pop sensation paused when her hand seemed to stop working during her acoustic set, prompting concern from the 34 year old songstress who had never encountered such an incident before.

Rubbing her hand while she held her guitar, Taylor said: "I'm so sorry. I've done a million shows on this tour and my hand has never just decided to - it's forming a claw."

Luckily, it wasn't long before she was able to get her hand back in working order and she started playing her guitar once again.

Elsewhere Taylor paused her performance to ensure the safety of a fan in distress, altering her lyrics to signal that the show would not go on until it was certain the individual was out of harm's way.

The iconic venue welcomed over 70,000 attendees on Friday night, with expectations of a total of 220,000 fans over the weekend, all eager to witness Swift's enchanting performances. Amidst the excitement, Swift expressed her deep affection for Scotland and shared a heartfelt regret for not including the nation more frequently on her tour schedules in the past.

Her declaration of love for the Scottish fans and their 'beautifully generous' spirit highlighted the special connection she felt with the crowd, making the evening an unforgettable experience for both the artist and her adoring supporters.

Swift enthused about the joy her current tour has brought her, stating: "This tour has been the most fun I have had in my entire life, it really is. I think the reason why it might be, my one regret in terms of the tours we have done is I really should have come to play in Scotland more.", reports the Daily Record.

"We should have taken every tour here - because look at what you've done, you made us all feel so welcome. You've been so beautifully generous to us."

She went on to say: "Even before we got here, you showed love and passion. We got here and you guys are like this! the volume of singing and dancing, I can't stop looking at the crowd, I'm fully distracted by how great you are."

Those in attendance on Friday night were treated to a romantic proposal during her hit song 'Cardigan', with Taylor acknowledging the special moment during the concert.

Taylor's Eras Tour kicked off in Edinburgh and will continue to hit different locations in the UK over the next couple of months.
