A royal commentator has named the "one thing" Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should do to boost their publicity.

Opinion on the Sussexes is often divided, with many praising their philanthropic efforts and others criticising them for voicing their feelings on the Royal Family.

But one way for the Duke and Duchess to win the critics over, says royal expert Kinsey Schofield, is to let the public see what they’re really like.

Speaking on her Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast, the US-based commentator suggested: “Harry and Megan are so guarded … it's hard to hear him specifically talk about fatherhood on multiple podcasts and shows and interviews and and then we don’t actually see that.

"I think that probably has to be a real obstacle for their team, who know that the only way forward or they feel the only only way forward it to change perception is to get to know the real Harry and Megan but so much of their life is so guarded.”

Kinsey added that she believes Prince Harry has insisted on keeping his children out of the public eye, against his wife’s wishes: “He has overruled Megan Markle when it comes to sharing Prince Archie and and Princess Lily on the screen,” she said.

She quoted an un-named royal “insider” who told The Sun: “Harry and Megan have not always agreed on how much they should expose their children to the media, but in this case Harry has clearly won.”

Kinsey claims that Meghan would, given the opportunity, feature Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in more of the couple’s Netflix shows: “I could see Megan Markle trying to lean on the children throughout the cooking show, the entertaining show."

She added: “I think she's really wanting to be more thought of as a softer character and people seeing her in ‘Mommy Mode’ might actually contribute to that.”

Archie and Lilibet have rarely been seen in public, except on a handful of very special occasions.

But experts believe that there’s more to their parents’ caution about keeping them out of the public eye than simply trying to give the youngsters a comparatively normal, balanced upbringing.

One friend close to the pair has revealed that safety concerns are actually at the root of their determination to shield their children from the public.
