Londoners had to take a double look earlier this week when they spotted Prince Harry seemingly having a pint at a local pub in, London, ahead of his 40th birthday on Sunday.

The realistic Madame Tussauds figure was snapped in the fittingly named Duke of Sussex pub in Peckham and brought joy among the pub's regulars.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's figures reside in Madame Tussauds London’s Culture Capital zone among fellow British icons like Sir David Attenborough, Stormzy, suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, William Shakespeare and Sir Lewis Hamilton.

Fans keen to join the celebrations can come face-to-face with Prince Harry at Madame Tussauds London and ring in his 40th birthday with him this Sunday, September 15.

Steve Blackburn, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: "It’s not every day you turn 40, so we kicked off Prince Harry’s celebrations with a bang and in true British style – down the pub.

"We hope everyone enjoyed seeing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle come face-to-face with the real London, enjoying a pint at the fittingly named Duke of Sussex pub.

"And those that missed it, can come and celebrate in the attraction this weekend. Cheers!"

It comes as the real Duke of Sussex is set to celebrate his milestone birthday this weekend with his family and close friends in Montecito, California.

Afterwards, Harry is set to embark on an adventurous lads holiday in the Californian mountains without his wife, who will stay home with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

His birthday comes as the Duke's popularity plummeted in the UK, as shown by a new damning poll.

According to research conducted by Statista published earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex has steadily become less popular among the British public since October 2019, which was just months before his sensational exit in early 2020.

Back then (October 2019), Harry was liked by 71 percent and disliked by 22 percent of those polled but the latest data from last August showed that now, only 30 percent hold a favourable opinion of him, while 60 percent dislike him.
