Prince Harry revealed that he tried to diffuse the tension with his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Princess Kate before he fled to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle.

In unearthed footage, seen below, the Duke of Sussex said the meeting with the Prince and Princess of Wales went "not particularly well".

Prince Harry added that the arguments with his brother had become phyiscal and had built up over time.

"It was a build up of frustration on his part," said Harry. "At the same time, he was consuming a lot of the tabloid press, a lot of the stories and he had a few issues that were based not on reality."

In the clip, below, Prince Harry added that he had seen his family "constantly feeding the British press with lies. mistruths and misinformation".

"There's leaking but there's also planting of stories," added Harry. "The comms team want to be able to remove a negative story about their principal, they will trade and give you something about someone else's principal. So the offices end up working against each other.

"To see my brother's office copy the very same thing that we promised the two of us would never ever do, that was heartbreaking."

Prince Harry, 39, concludes that he can get past the issues if there is a conversation had with accountability shown.

"First, there needs to be conversation and accountability and if that doesn't happen, that's very sad."
