GMB: Ranvir Singh wishes Rob Rinder a 'happy birthday'

It looked as though ITV viewers were less than impressed on Friday morning as many were quick to call out Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh. The 46-year-old was standing in for Kate Garraway who usually co-hosts the programme at the end of the week.

As the show began, it wasn’t long before viewers highlighted Ranvir had a habit of talking over the guests on the panel, which resulted in some turning over. Social media user @annemilne5 said: “Wish Ranvir would stop talking & let others speak.”

Another user slammed: “Oh no bl***y Ranvir again, time to turn over” @Stephen07632097 tweeted: “Just tuned in, Ranvir you don't shut up !! Please calm down, you're ruining the programme.”

@mrdanleslie said: “Honestly why isn’t anyone telling Ranvir to let others speak! Surely even hurt co-hosts would tell her as they must see people's comments too.” Agreeing, @karen_flynn said: “She is always the same [sic] ruins it - she's been told many times. Had to switch over.”

However, there were some viewers who were thrilled to see Ranvir and Rob together hosting the Friday show. @leoandrewvw commented: “@GMB thank you for decent presenters this morning after the shower @CharlotteHawkns and @richardm56 this week!!”

During the show, fans learnt that it was Rob’s birthday as the programme blared music into the studio.

While Ranvir danced and pointed at the birthday boy, he laughed at the celebration.

She asked: “Is this the way you dreamt of your something, something birthday?”

He replied: “Being alongside you, waking up next to you? Don’t get me wrong, to lots of people that might have come as a surprise, but it’s a delightful one.”

Not wanting to give away his age, Rob joked it was nice to be 30-plus VAT.

Ranvir replied: “Exactly, although neither party are saying they’re raising VAT so you remain young for a bit longer!”

The Good Morning Britain star questioned whether or not the lawyer will be having a late night to celebrate, or if the early alarm from this morning will disrupt any plans.

He replied: “You sort of leave this place feeling a little bit jetlagged, so I think I’m going to have a nice little 30-plus VAT nap.”

His co-host replied: “When you get over a certain age an afternoon nap seems like the perfect thing.”

As Rob called it the dream, Ranvir confessed they were the same age as she revealed she was 46 under her breath.

Confirming they were both 46, Ranvir cheekily asked the viewers who was ageing better out of them both.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
