Eamonn Holmes is rumoured to be in the running for the next series of Celebrity Big Brother, with whispers of a hefty six-figure offer on the table.

The 64-year-old TV presenter is said to be on the radar of the show's producers, who are reportedly willing to shell out around £250,000 for his participation. This comes hot on the heels of Eamonn's recent split from his wife, Ruth Langsford, also 64.

Celebrity Big Brother made a triumphant return to our screens in March after a five-year hiatus, boasting a star-studded line-up including Louis Walsh and Fern Britton. Now, it seems Eamonn could be joining their ranks in the next series.

An insider told The Sun that the reality TV show's bookers are compiling a "drawing up a wish list" of potential housemates, and GB News presenter Eamonn is firmly on it. They revealed that the team behind Celebrity Big Brother would be thrilled if he agreed to participate, predicting that he'd be a hit with viewers.

The source also touched on Eamonn's well-documented health struggles, including ongoing back issues that have affected his mobility and caused him pain. They assured: "Eamonn's health concerns are something they would take into account and, when they package up an offer, they would make assurances to him that he would be looked after in the house.", reports the Mirror.

The proposal is said to be a substantial six-figure sum of approximately £250,000 to "try and tempt him in".

An insider revealed to the media outlet: "Eamonn has always been wanted for Celebrity Big Brother but has never wanted to take part.

"His split with Ruth and the fact he had to sell his house in Belfast to pay a huge tax bill makes the bookers think his head could be turned."

Eamonn and Ruth, who formerly co-hosted This Morning, confirmed their separation after over a decade of matrimony in a joint statement released last month.

The announcement stated: "[They] have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

The ex-couple tied the knot in 2010 but had been an item for more than twenty years.

They share a son, Jack Holmes, 22, and Ruth has been a stepmother to Eamonn's three children from a previous marriage for many years.

The most recent season of Celebrity Big Brother aired for several weeks in March this year.

The winner was reality TV personality David Potts, who made it to the final alongside Strictly Come Dancing's Nikita Kuzmin and Coronation Street's Colson Smith, as well as fellow contestants Louis and Fern.
