Ruth Langsford, a star of Loose Women, confessed that her heart felt as if it had been "felt like her heart had been ripped out" when her son left home pre-dating her separation from Eamonn Holmes. Eamonn and Ruth are parents to their 22 year old son, Jack, who they share together.

However, Eamonn has three additional children from his earlier marriage to Gabrielle Holmes.

It has since been revealed that the pair might have been living apart for a span of two years predating their public split announcement. Their representatives released a shared statement confirming: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Eamonn is believed to have moved out of their jointly owned £3.2 million property in Weybridge, Surrey. Despite this, sources suggest that both are "determined to stay friends and keep things amicable", primarily for the wellbeing of their son.

However, Ruth admitted her struggles at home following Jack's departure post-graduation weeks before their separation was announced publicly.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, Ruth emotionally expressed: "I would say that first week of not having him at home literally felt like part of my heart had been ripped out. I kept his bedroom door shut. I remember coming home and going into his bedroom and crying."

Ruth Langsford has opened up about her family's struggles, including her mother's dementia diagnosis following the death of her father Dennis in 2012 from Alzheimer's. Her sister Julia tragically ended her own life at the age of 62 in 2019 after a long battle with depression.

Eamonn Holmes, now a GB News presenter, has been dealing with serious health problems in recent years. He has undergone hip replacement surgery, suffered from slipped discs and chronic pain, leading to spinal surgery in 2022.

Despite the successful operation, he now faces a potential collapse of his left leg. A mere ten days post-surgery, he fell down 18 stairs at home, resulting in further injuries.

Since then, he has often been seen using a stick or wheelchair for mobility.

Ruth previously addressed Eamonn's struggles with his health and mobility, as she told Woman's Own magazine: "I don't know how much Eamonn's mobility will improve. We live in hope."
