Eamonn Holmes apologises as he struggles at award ceremony

Eamonn Holmes issued a plea to the public just weeks ago as his co-presenter shared a sweet snap alongside the veteran broadcaster. The GB News presenter could be seen giving Isabel Webster a peck on the cheek while accepting a TRIC Award in 2023.

The heartwarming photo was taken last year as the presenting duo accepted the Multichannel News Programme award. But at the time, the 64 year old struggled to get on stage as he used a crutch.

Taking to her Instagram stories today, Isabel shared the sweet snap, which was captioned: "Let's go!"

It comes as the pair are hoping to win big at the upcoming award ceremony that will take place later this month. Five weeks ago Eamonn issued a plea as he urged the public to vote for him after he received two nominations.

The former This Morning presenter wrote: "Tricawards. 2 Eamonn categories up for grabs at Tricawardsuk. Best News Presenter and Best News Programme. The choice is yours my friends."

His announcement comes after it was revealed he is separating from his wife of 14 years.

Ruth Langsford has not spoken publicly about their impending divorce but the pair did release a joint statement via their representatives. It read: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

It has been reported Eamonn has moved out of the couple's Surrey home.

The host spoke about the news briefly to thank people for their support.

He said: "Just before we move on I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. "Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."

The couple, who share 22 year old son Jack, previously worked together on ITV's This Morning for over a decade. Since the couple's departure in 2021, Ruth has continued to work for the broadcaster, often fronting Loose Women.

Meanwhile, Eamonn moved to GB News where he presents the breakfast show.

Breakfast with Eamonn and Isbael airs Monday - Thursday from 6am on GB News.
