Coronation Street star teases Bethany romance as fans issue plea

Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan has dropped hints about a budding romance between her character Daisy Midgeley and Bethany Platt in the hit ITV drama.

Charlotte, who burst onto the scene in 2020 as the charismatic Daisy, quickly became a fan favourite. As Jenny Connor's (played by Sally Ann Matthews) stepdaughter, she's been at the centre of some gripping storylines, including a terrifying acid attack and a scandalous affair.

Now, it seems Daisy might be heading for an unexpected romantic twist with Bethany, and Charlotte is all for it.

In a Reddit thread, one eagle-eyed fan posted a screenshot from Charlotte's Instagram story during a Q&A session. The actress was quizzed: "What are your thoughts on Daisy and Bethany cos lufal [Lucy Fallon who plays Bethany] said she wants to kiss you xoxo."

Charlotte responded with a photo of herself alongside Lucy Fallon, captioning it: "I mean she might be getting a sickness bug from her baby atm but once that has fully cleared there will be NO argument from me," reports the Daily Star.

The prospect of Daisy and Bethany's love story has sent fans into a frenzy of excitement. Comments poured in with one fan exclaiming: "Oh that would be amazing!"

Another chimed in: "Definitely, I'd much prefer this to Carla and Swain", while another simply stated: "I wouldn't complain like."

Others joined the chorus of approval, with one saying: "If this happens my faith in the show will be restored."

Last year, Charlotte expressed her eagerness to collaborate with Lucy following her return. Chatting with Inside Soap about Daisy's reaction to Bethany's comeback, actor Charlotte remarked: "I imagine there will be another love triangle."

She continued: "Me and Lucy hung out at the Inside Soap Awards, and we're both really looking forward to working together."

Regarding her aspirations for the upcoming plot, Charlotte added: "I hope Daisy and Bethany clash, and then something brings them together. If Daisy could have a friend, that would be great."

Lucy also shared with Metro in December her anticipation for her character to develop a rapport with Charlotte's. She elaborated: "Because Daisy is a strong female character and Bethany is also a strong female character, I feel like they're going to clash.

"And also, obviously, they both want the same thing. And I think there's going to be a bit of a power battle between them both."
