The live final of Britain's Got Talent on Sunday night was fraught with tension as a dramatic incident unfolded during the performance by Korean taekwondo stars Ssaulabi Performance Troupe.

Audiences were left gasping when a member of the troupe suffered a startling accident while executing a high-flying routine in front of the judges.

In a heart-stopping moment, two performers collided mid-air, resulting in one of them crashing to the stage floor as they attempted to break wooden boards while airborne.

Following the alarming event, show officials have issued a statement. "During last night's live final, a member of Ssaulabi Performance Troupe was injured," confirmed a spokesperson for Britain's Got Talent to The Sun.

The injured performer received immediate attention from the medical team present at the venue and was subsequently taken to hospital for further care. The BGT team extended their best wishes for his swift recovery, reports OK!.

Social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, saw an outpouring of concern from viewers who had witnessed the accident, despite the show continuing without interruption. Notably, one of the troupe members paused their act to attend to the fallen colleague who managed to crawl offstage.

Viewers expressed their alarm online, with comments such as: "I'm pretty sure that one of the team members injured, if not broke, his leg during that performance," and others outright stating: "That guy just broke his leg!"

Alesha Dixon, part of the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Bruno Tonioli, voiced her concern on-air, expressing hope that the injured performer was "okay" after the shocking turn of events.

Despite the support from hosts Ant and Dec, who had chosen them as their Golden Buzzer act, the Ssaulabi Performance Troupe did not secure a top spot in the competition, finishing in 10th place, narrowly ahead of the skipping group Harribow.

Singer Sydnie Christmas clinched the title, securing her a coveted spot at this year's Royal Variety Show and bagging a hefty £250,000 prize.

Yet, the decision left a sour taste for some viewers, with one fan taking to Twitter to express their dismay: "Ssaulabi Performance Troupe are world class and would be a deserving winner."

Echoing the sentiment, another viewer tweeted in disbelief: "10th place for Ssaulabi with all their talent is mental! Should have been top 3!"

Subsequent revelations showed that 28-year-old songstress Sydnie Christmas captured a staggering 27 percent of the public vote. Jack Rhodes was hot on her heels with 15.8 percent, while Abigail and Afronitaaa nabbed third place with 10.4 percent.
