LW: Stacey and Denise clash over working from home

Loose Women viewers are buzzing with speculation that ITV chiefs might steer clear of pairing Stacey Solomon and Denise Welch together after their fiery exchange on the daytime talk show this Monday. Stacey Solomon, made her comeback to the panel on Monday 3 June but found herself locking horns with Denise not once, but twice during the broadcast.

Post-show, social media was abuzz with comments from fans. One viewer posted: "I doubt we'll see Stacey on with Denise for a while... Stacey has the stones to defend her thunder," praising Stacey's ability to hold her own in the debate.

Another chimed in: "Totally agree. Stacey's blown her right out of the water. I for one am loving it."

The initial clash between Stacey and Denise arose over Melania Trump's choice to remain with Donald Trump after his conviction for falsifying records. Stacey questioned: "Why is the focus on his wife? It should be about him and his disgraceful acts."

Later, as the conversation shifted to the topic of stay-at-home husbands and remote working, Stacey a mother to five children, Zachary, 16, Leighton, 12, Rex, six, Rose, four, and one-year-old Belle reiterated her past statements about aspiring to be a full-time mum. She highlighted the significant advantages of flexible work arrangements for many families, particularly those with kids.

However, Denise aired her grievances that the "country is collapsing" due to the surge in home working leading to a shortage of staff.

Stacey challenged Denise's view that remote working was to blame for staff shortages, highlighting the plight of workers on precarious zero-hour contracts.

"So it has nothing to do with the fact that a nurse is grafting hard on a zero-hours contract, struggling to pay childcare? " she contended.

"No wonder people aren't signing up to do these jobs, they just aren't paid enough to do them."

Social media users rallied behind Stacey, with one posting on X (formerly Twitter): "Stacey absolutely wiping the floor with Densy [clapping hand emojis] #LooseWomen," and another commenting: "What a shame Stacey is stepping back from TV, she's the only redeeming feature of #LooseWomen."

Express.co.uk has reached out to ITV for comment.

Denise recently found herself embroiled in another on-air dispute. Gloria Hunniford sharply rebuked Denise on Thursday 30 May for interrupting her during a discussion about the resurgence of perms.

As Gloria reminisced, "It's archaic when I look back because we used to be latched to this machine."

Denise cut in to inquire about the mentioned "perm machine".

Gloria, eager to continue her story, briskly told Denise to hold on, saying: "Hang on a sec". The audience erupted into laughter at Gloria's response and Denise's exaggerated expression of shock.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
