Prince Harry will attend an event with one of his brother's friends later this month, it has been confimed.

The Duke of Sussex and World Central Kitchen's José Andrés, who is now part of Prince William's Earthshot Prize Council, will both be speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City on September 22 and 23.

Andrés had previously described himself as a friend of Harry and Meghan Markle and was one of their first major partners when they moved to America.

However, the relationship appears to have drifted apart in recent years at the same time as the celebrity chef began working with Harry's estranged brother Prince William.

This will be the first time they will have seen each other since Andrés joined Prince William's Earthshot Prize.

Andrés is believed to have first partnered with William's eco-initiative in 2023 where he hosted a panel discussion at the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in New York.

This year, he will take on a more formal role and will have a say in selecting the finalists in line to receive five grants of over a million dollars each.

This money will be used to scale up projects and products that repair, protect and conserve the environment, which is what the Earthshot prize is all about.

In a statement about his involvement, Andrés said: "I am thrilled to join the Earthshot Prize Council to help showcase the changemakers pushing the boundaries of innovation and ingenuity around the world.

"

"In good times and hard times, I've seen first hand the power of food to heal and unite communities. Food is the best way to address some of the planet's most pressing challenges, and I firmly believe that we must transform our food systems to be more sustainable and equitable.

"There is so much we can do to inspire the world to see food as a powerful tool for creativity and change, and Earthshot solutions are at the forefront of this movement."

Set to be held in New York City this month, Prince William is reported to not be attending the event in person and will stay at home in Windsor with his wife Princess Kate, who is still recovering from cancer, and their three children.

He is likely to send a video message to the Earthshot Prize finalists and winners.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry will visit New York City later this month solo to carry out a number of engagements, including a Princess Diana event.

The two brothers will not meet in person or virtually for this event.
