The Royal Family seemingly broke protocol when they wished Prince Harry a happy 40th birthday on Sunday, in what could be seen as a major olive branch from King Charles.

Breaking two years of public silence, Buckingham Palace, closely followed by Kensington Palace within hours, sent the Duke of Sussex their well wishes, as he prepared to celebrate his milestone birthday across the pond.

According to the Mail, it has been stressed privately that, even though the Royal Family don't mark non-working royal birthdays on their social media, this was in line with the "tradition" of sending public good wishes on "significant" birthdays, the same being done to mark Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew's 40th and 60th birthday's, respectively.

Interestingly, the Firm's choice of a picture, from a visit to a start-up in Dublin in 2018 when Harry was still a working royal, did not include his wife, who was with him at the event and was seemingly cropped out by the photographer at the time.

The outlet's diary editor, Richard Eden, wrote on X: "This is intriguing: Buckingham Palace has previously said birthday wishes were sent on social media only to 'working royals'."

King Charles's 'olive branch' to Prince Harry snubbed in brutal six-word shut down

King Charles's apparent "olive branch" to Prince Harry on Sunday has been snubbed by a royal expert.

In a shock to many royal experts and fans, the King appeared to set aside the Royal Family's tensions by sending public birthday wishes to the Duke of Sussex.

Although many would like to believe the tensions could be subsiding, royal expert Michael Cole said that it appears the gesture done by the royals - in particular the Prince of Wales - was merely them "obliging to do the right thing".

The book gives insight into his private life and some snippets of it include the Prince and Princess of Wales and their warm encounter with his then-girlfriend, Alizee Thevenet, who he met in 2018.

The late Queen's contribution to the UK economy laid bare

Queen Elizabeth did not only have a significant impact on people across the globe, but the late Queen also played a vital role in the UK economy.

While UK taxpayers are sometimes questioning how much they are funding the Royal Family, it has been clear over recent years that this is greatly exceeded in value by what the family bring in through tourism, international media rights, endorsements and merchandise.

According to valuation consultancy Brand Finance, it was estimated in 2017 that the family’s worth was valued at £67.5billion.

Prince Harry birthday post shows King Charles 'won't shut door' as Meghan cropped out

In a surprising move, the Royal Family acknowledged Prince Harry's birthday on their official social media platforms for the first time in three years.

This courtesy is usually extended to all working royals, but given the Duke of Sussex's estrangement from The Firm, it was unexpected.

The Daily Mail suggested that "Charles will never completely close the door on his youngest son".

Prince Harry won't return to UK as 'his safety is not guaranteed'

Prince Harry is likely to snub the UK after his return hints as “his life is in America”, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex celebrated privately with his wife and children on Sunday in Montecito, California before heading off on a break with friends.

Members of the Royal Family have shared messages on social media about his birthday.

In recent weeks, there have been rumors suggesting that Prince Harry might spend more time in the UK, feeling drawn to his former home and reconnecting with old friends and colleagues.

However, there's little evidence to support these claims, reports the BBC.
