Key sign Prince Harry 'won't walk away' from UK laid bare as he eyes major move

A former royal butler claimed Prince Harry will be spending more time in the UK due to one key detail as the duke is "proud to be British".

Meghan Markle will 'control' any royal return for Harry says Levin

Prince Harry will not "walk away" from the UK as the duke is said to be looking to buy a house in his home country, one year after he was evicted from his former home, Frogmore Cottage, a former royal butler has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex recently announced that his passion project, the Invictus Games, will be returning to Britain in 2027, as Birmingham won the bid to host the event in a competition against US finalist Washington DC.

Harry, who is expected to attend the major event, has also been rumoured to be looking to buy a house in the UK, after he and his wife Meghan Markle vacated Frogmore Cottage more than a year ago, following his explosive memoir, Spare.

Now Grant Harrold, who previously worked for King Charles for seven years as part of his household, claimed that the Invictus Games will cause Harry to "increase his time in the UK" as a part of him could still "resent that he has gone away".

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Mr Harrold said: "I think Harry will be looking to increase his time in the UK. I heard he may be looking for a house too, which doesn’t surprise me.

"His whole life was based in the UK for so many years, and to get up and walk away from that is simply impossible.

"There may be a part within him that may resent that he has gone away and given up his home."

The former royal butler added that having the games in the UK shows that Harry is "proud to be British" and that he wouldn't rule out the prince "moving back".

He explained: "It doesn’t surprise me that he is happy to bring the Invictus games to the UK. It means that in the build-up to the event, he will be spending a lot more time in his home country.

"Having it here will mean a lot to him. He is proud to be British, and I still think he is proud of his family too."

On Harry's possible return to the UK, he said: "I also wouldn’t rule out Harry moving back to the UK. His relationship seems stable, and as originally planned, he may want to spend some time here as well as in the States.

"It’s quite possible he will spend some time across both places."
