Meghan Markle has 'one arrow left in her quiver' as major deal 'all but dead'

Meghan Markle struggles to stay "culturally relevant" but has "one arrow left in her quiver".

Prince Harry and Meghan 'stuck with the devil' over memoir income

Meghan Markle is said to only have "one arrow left in her quiver" to maintain "relevance", according to a royal commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex has maintained a relatively low profile throughout the year however, her popularity in the UK and US is still plummeting.

Meghan's brand debut in March helped boost her favourability with the American public slightly, however, it still stays far behind that of other British royals like the Prince and Princess of Wales and even her husband.

Overall, Prince William and Princess Kate are viewed more favourably than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

A poll of 1,500 US-eligible voters conducted by Redfield and Wilton for Newsweek back in May found that Meghan was liked by just 36 percent of adults and disliked by 24 percent.

This marked a sharp increase compared to February when she was viewed favourably by just 31 percent and unfavourably by 30 percent.

At the same time, Princess Kate emerged as America's favourite royal once again as she was viewed positively by 45 percent and negatively by 13 percent of US adults, whereas Prince William was liked by 40 percent and disliked by 12 percent and Prince Harry was viewed favourably by 42 percent and unfavourably by 18.

Now royal commentator Maureen Callahan suggested that the duchess only has one key move if she wants to "catapult" herself back into the spotlight - write a memoir.

She told GBN America:"It’s been rumoured for a long time that Meghan might write a memoir. There aren’t many things left that Meghan can pull out of her hat in terms of garnering some relevance.

"The Netflix deal is all but dead. She is doing a cooking show but I can’t imagine many will watch it.

"The only other arrow in her quiver would be to write a scandalous memoir. It makes sense."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's public perception has seen a huge slump after their sensational departure from the Royal Family and move to the US in 2020.

But Callahan says that the duchess also struggles to stay "culturally" relevant.

She explained: "It’s not just her popularity that continues to decline, it’s also her cultural relevance.

"There’s a photo out of Meghan with a friend wearing a £15,500 ($17,000) Cartier necklace. She can’t seem to read the room.

"The American economy is the top of concerns for the average American, they are feeling pinched. This display of wealth is not going down well."
