Prince Harry is expected to head back to the UK for a significant period now that Birmingham has been picked to host the 2027 Invictus Games.

Prince Harry this week secured the "perfect excuse" to return to the UK after years of short visits following his decision to step down from the Royal Family.

It was announced this week that the 2027 edition of the Invictus Games would be hosted by Birmingham after the selection committee picked the West Midlands city over Washington DC.

Commentator Kinsey Schofield argued the move would offer a "homesick" Duke of Sussex a great opportunity to spend time in the UK – and possibly be with his family.

Speaking to Sky News Australia, the To Di For Daily host said: "I think that he's homesick, quite honestly. I think he's looking for any reason, any excuse to get back there.

"It's widely reported that his dad doesn't take all of his phone calls, maybe this is the perfect excuse for him to go spend a significant time over there."

Meghan missing Invictus Games would be the 'ultimate snub'

Royal expert Jennie Bond told OK!: "There is the whole issue of security. Unless this is resolved and Harry gets the guaranteed police protection he feels he needs for himself and his family – – a demand that I have some sympathy with – – I can’t see him bringing Meghan and the children here."

She continued, "The security issue always provides a credible excuse for Meghan and the children not coming to the UK. Personally, I don’t think she ever wants to come here again , but I think she will be acutely aware that her absence at something like the Invictus games – – her husband‘s greatest achievement – – would signal more than a concern about safety.

"It would tell us that nothing is going to drag her back to the UK, even though it is the land of her husband‘s birth and Harry has said he wants his children to know and understand their heritage."

Meghan poised to snub UK visit

Meghan Markle could turn down the chance to travel to the UK with Harry.

A source told Closer: "Harry is very anxious to go home and see his dad, catch up with his friends for his birthday in September and also pay a visit to his aunt, Princess Anne.

"But that situation hasn't changed for Meghan.

"She's respectful that Harry has to go back to his home for practical and emotional reasons, but that doesn't mean she's going to go with him."

The 'nail in the coffin' for Harry's relationship with the media

A royal expert has said that the media leaking that Prince Harry was on the front lines in Afghanistan was a "nail in the coffin" for his relationship with the press.

An Australian magazine revealed Harry was in the country back in January 2008, forcing Harry to withdraw from his tour.

Speaking on The Royal Record, GB News' Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker said: "There was a lot of talk behind the scenes as to whether it would be safe for Prince Harry - at the time, third in line to the throne - to go on the front line in Afghanistan.

"Prince William was not allowed to do that because he was the future King... There was a question mark over Prince Harry, and it was eventually decided that yes [he would go], but there would be a media blackout and nobody would know he was there.

"So all of the British and international media who followed the Royal Family were told that Prince Harry was going on to the front line in Afghanistan.

"The agreement was that there was a media blackout on this - no one is going to run the story for Prince Harry's safety, in exchange for, when he does finish the tour, we can talk about it and you'll be given loads of access to pictures or copy or whatever.

"Unfortunately for Prince Harry, an Australian magazine published that he was serving on the front line and he regrettably had to be pulled out early from that tour for his own safety.

"He speaks about it in his memoir, 'Spare', just how angry he was that that had happened - and I think that was perhaps one of the nails in the coffin in terms of Prince Harry's relationship with the media - understandably so.

"He was incredibly frustrated, didn't want to leave his team, but it was when he was being flown back - when he was accompanying wounded [troops], and the coffins of soldiers who had been killed in Afghanistan - which sparked the idea for the Invictus Games."

Meghan's first BBC intetview was 'insincere' interview- royal source

A royal source has taken aim at Meghan Markle after the Duchess claimed her first interview with the BBC was "rehearsed."

Mishal Husain, who carried out the interview, hit back at Meghan, saying "there was nothing that pointed to what would happen."

Now, a royal source has told the Mail: "At the time, there was so much excitement about the engagement that no one really questioned some of Meghan's comments.

"But, if you watch it again now, some of her responses seem insincere and her body language is telling."

Prince Harry accused of creating 'sense of danger' and putting his security at risk

Prince Harry threatened his own safety by outlining how many people he had killed in Afghanistan, a royal commentator has said.

Cameron Walker, GB News' Royal Correspondent, said that Harry put himself at risk as Taliban fighters "wanted his head on a stick".

He told the Royal Record: "He served two tours of Afghanistan, he's supporting wounded veterans with the Invictus Games, he's patron of 'Scotty's Little Soldiers', a charity here in the UK which supports children who've lost a parent through military service.

"But then... In his memoir, 'Spare', he talks about the killing of 25 Taliban fighters when he was serving those tours of Afghanistan, and he describes them as chess pieces on a board.

"And that didn't sit right with some in the military community, because not only did some accuse him of bragging about the number of kills he had - something which you don't do in the military community because each kill is a life and it's not something to celebrate - but also it creates this sense of danger."

Real reason Meghan Markle won't join Prince Harry on vital UK trip laid bare

A royal insider has revealed why Meghan Markle is unlikely to join Prince Harry if he returns to the UK for an extended trip that he reportedly believes will be a vital part of his bid to win back his family.

The Duke of Sussex is said to be resigned to the fact he needs to spend more time in Britain if he is to repair relations with his father, King Charles - and his brother, Prince William.

It's believed that the Duke has been blindsided by the double cancer diagnoses of his father and sister-in-law Princess Kate.

Consequently, he reportedly wants to "prioritise mending his broken relationship with his family."

Should Meghan Markle join Prince Harry on next trip to UK for Invictus Games?

POLL: The Invictus Games was the event where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seen together as a couple for the first time back in 2017, but as the next host nation is named as the UK the big question is if Meghan will join her husband once more?

It's been a turbulent seven years for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have married, had two children, and stepped down as working royals with a permanent move to California.

Appearances on Oprah Winfrey, a Netflix documentary, and the release of a tell-all memoir have reportedly strained relations between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William and father King Charles III.

The Sussexes last official appearance together in the UK was to mourn the death of Prince Harry's beloved 'granny' Queen Elizabeth II, but the Duke himself has visited alone several times this year.

Relations between Prince Harry and his nearest and dearest back in the UK have reportedly soured in recent years after the release of the Duke's tell-all memoir Spare and the Sussexes appearance in a Netflix documentary.

Meghan Markle has 'one arrow left in her quiver' as major deal 'all but dead'

Meghan Markle is said to only have "one arrow left in her quiver" to maintain "relevance", according to a royal commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex has maintained a relatively low profile throughout the year however, her popularity in the UK and US is still plummeting.

Meghan's brand debut in March helped boost her favourability with the American public slightly, however, it still stays far behind that of other British royals like the Prince and Princess of Wales and even her husband.

Overall, Prince William and Princess Kate are viewed more favourably than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

A poll of 1,500 US-eligible voters conducted by Redfield and Wilton for Newsweek back in May found that Meghan was liked by just 36% of adults and disliked by 24%.

Meghan Markle 'dislikes' UK and 'will not step foot in country again'

Meghan Markle will "never set foot" in Britain again despite her husband, Prince Harry's Invictus Games coming home after 13 years, it has been claimed.

The Games will return to the UK in 2027 for the first time since 2014 after it was announced on Tuesday that Birmingham won the bid to host the event in a competition against US finalist Washington DC.

However, the Duchess of Sussex's attendance is still up in the air as the last time she visited her husband's home country was in 2022 when she attended the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral as the couple are still concerned over their security while in Britain.

Now TalkTV host Kevin O’Sullivan and royal commentator Kinsey Schofield discussed Meghan's possible next move and whether she will join her husband at the major event.

Meghan Markle fears one huge embarrassment as 'olive branch' trip to UK thrown into doubt

As Prince Harry prepares to reconnect with his family on an upcoming trip to the UK, it appears his wife Meghan Markle is unlikely to be joining him as an insider revealed that the Duchess of Sussex “fears being heckled in public” upon her return.

Earlier this week it was reported that Harry, 39, is planning to come to the UK later this Summer for an extended period to “mend his broken relationship with his family,” which has been increasingly fraught recently.

The proud father-of-two, who officially stepped away from life as a working royal back in 2020 to move to the US with his young family, is believed to have been blindsided by the cancer diagnoses of both his father King Charles and sister-in-law Princess Kate, which was revealed to the public at the start of the year.

Yet despite Harry’s hopes of a happy reunion with his relatives, it seems increasingly unlikely that wife Meghan will be joining him for the extended trip, as the former actress has “too much on her plate” juggling several projects, including the recent launch of her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

Meghan Markle 'will back Kamala Harris' in political move

Meghan Markle has been tipped to endorse Democrat Kamala Harris's run for president in a move that could help launch her own political career.

The Duchess of Sussex has been plagued by rumours of a possible future in politics for years – and she helped fuel speculation by lobbying Congress for paid parental leave and urging voters to head to the polls in the 2020 election.

Speaking to GB News, the To Di For Daily host said: "Meghan has a friendly relationship with Kamala Harris. I do believe that Meghan Markle will endorse Kamala Harris for president.

"The story is circulating because Newsweek took a poll asking how many people would be influenced by a potential endorsement by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. (...)

"Meghan wants to be involved, Meghan wants to be included – this is potentially a very historic election. We saw Meghan involved, including with Kamala Harris, in the voters campaign in 2020 and this is a great way for Meghan Markle to get her foot in the door."
