Zara and Mike Tindall have been together since they met in Australia back in 2003 and as of July this year, celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary.

The couple met when Zara, daughter of Princess Anne, was travelling on a gap year while Mike was a member of the World Cup-winning England rugby squad.

Just as Princess Kate and William married in 2011, Mike and Zara wed the same year and have since welcomed three children together - Mia, Lena and Lucas.

The couple's secret to a successful marriage seems to be simple – they often share each other's wins, keep a down-to-earth attitude while being able to have a sense of humour, and know when to take some time out.

Their enduring love is also palpable as the couple don't often shy away from public displays of affection.

One of their secrets to their love affair is having their individual ambitions and supporting one another. The Tindalls have always supported each other in their careers, with both of them excelling in their chosen sporting fields.

Zara was on the Olympic equestrian team for Great Britain, even winning a silver medal at London 2012.

Mike too played rugby internationally for England before retiring, and the pair have always been on the sidelines cheering each other on.

They also have common interests, both being animal lovers. As well as horses, Zara and Mike are huge fans of dogs.

Currently they own two black Labradors, a mother and daughter named Storm and Pepper, and a Brindle Boxer called Blink.

With Zara not being a working royal, she is able to have downtime and choose how she wants to spend her time. The freedom has allowed her to travel and get closer with Mike.

When they met, they realised they have the same pastimes too, with Mike Tindall revealing on his I'm a Celebrity stint, that the couple hit it off and went for "lunch locally" for their first real date.

He said: "Ended up being quite a boozy one. Then we figured out that we both quite like getting smashed. It was a good start."

That might just be the secret to a long marriage.
