Prince William has given a sign of how the monarchy could operate a little differently when he becomes in King in the future.

Following the release of the accounts for the Duchy of Cornwall, it has been revealed that when it comes to communications, Prince William differs from his father.

The Duchy of Cornwall’s secretary and keeper of the records Alastair Martin has revealed that while King Charles calls him, Prince William prefers to use WhatsApp.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Mr Martin, who will be working for King Charles from this autumn, went into detail on how the pair differ in terms of communication.

Mr Martin said: “His Royal Highness the 24th Duke would telephone me. His Royal Highness the 25th Duke will WhatsApp me.

“There will be weekends when my WhatsApp messages will be in double figures and I will be very responsive If something has gone well or badly, I will want to tell my boss and he’ll be straight back.”

The insight into Prince William's methods of communication comes as questions continue to be asked about his future relationship with another member of his family, Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex is set to return to the UK when the Invictus Games are hosted in the city of Birmingham. According to one royal expert, this could put Prince William and Princess Kate in a tricky position.

GB News’ Dorothy Reddin warned that this could pose a challenge to William and Kate as the feud between the two royal brothers continues.

She wrote: “The Royal Family would almost certainly have to consider the optics of a major sporting event being held in the heart of the UK and no visibility from Harry's immediate family, thus placing the Waleses in an awkward position.

"William and Kate could run the risk of appearing cold if they failed to show public support for the Duke of Sussex. The 2027 Invictus Games are three years away, and there is no way of telling how the Waleses' relationship with the Sussexes will be.

“If Princess Kate and Prince William attend the upcoming Invictus Games events in 2027, it could be deeply awkward, but there is also the opportunity for an emotional reunion and a powerful full-circle moment for the Royal Family."
