GB News: Body expert discusses King Charles III pen incident

King Charles may sometimes have a "terrible" temper and an "irascible streak" but he is "absolutely not a monster in the office", an ex-royal staffer has said.

Some of those connected to the Royal Family, including former royal correspondent Jennie Bond, have admitted that the King can be hot-headed at times.

One incident that particularly demonstrated his temper was when he became angry with a leaking fountain pen at Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland, days after the death of Queen Elizabeth.

But a former royal employee told the Daily Beast: "Charles can have a terrible temper... Anything he perceives as incompetence particularly brings it out. He doesn't suffer fools gladly.

"In fairness to him, as anyone who has actually worked with him will tell you, he himself is always extremely well prepared, well-read on the subject matter of people he meets and is working with, diligent and respectful of expertise."

His Majesty expects those around him to show him the same "respect" and he can get annoyed with his staff in "blunt terms when he perceives someone has not done their job properly, or is just being 'idiotic'".

The insider added: "Ultimately, people like working for him, but everyone is under a lot of pressure because his office is incredibly busy.

"He's absolutely not a monster in the office, but he is human, and he snaps sometimes... Unfortunately there is sometimes a camera on him when it happens."

A friend of the King and Queen Camilla also told the publication: "He has an irascible streak to be sure, but it is much better since he has been with Camilla.

"Everyone, regardless of their position or status, experiences everyday irritations, but literally every move - every gesture - he makes is scrutinised."

His elder son and heir Prince William has also had to learn to rise above family drama, most notably the breakdown of his relationship with Prince Harry.

Daily Mail editor Charlotte Griffiths explained to GB News that William "can't be bothered" with Harry and Meghan Markle anymore, especially since Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis.

She added: "This is a guy who has a lot of big things on his plate. He has two very sick relatives, one of whom is his wife. He is planning to be the future King, who knows how long that could be. That must be at the forefront of his mind."

Harry may be travelling back to the UK later this year, but even if he does make the journey across the pond it seems unlikely he will meet with William.
