Meghan Markle's blunt 7-word response when asked about quitting career for Prince Harry
Meghan Markle's royal romance saw her stepping down as a TV actress and closing down her blog site, the Tig.
Before marrying Prince Harry at St George's Chapel in Windsor in May 2018, Meghan Markle was known for her role on TV drama Suits where she played a paralegal named Rachel Zane.
Following her royal marriage, she decided to step away from her acting job and subsequently close her social media sites and blog website, called The Tig.
When asked about how Meghan felt about leaving her acting career behind in her first worldwide interview following Harry's proposal, she gave a blunt 7-word response: "I just see it as a change".
BBC interviewer, Mishal Husain, was keen to know how she saw her new role as the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan fully explained: "I don't see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change. It's a new challenge."
The former actress added: "And also keep in mind I have been working on my show for seven years."

Long before Meghan became the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan played her character for seven seasons. She has since been candid about her close friendships with the cast and many of her castmates attended her wedding at St George's Chapel with their partners.
Talking about the longevity of the series, Meghan explained in her BBC engagement interview: "So we're very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series and for me, once we hit the 100-episode marker I thought you know what I have I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work I've done there and now it's time to, as you said, work as a team with you [Harry]."
However, it is claimed that once Harry and Meghan's love story became headline material, Buckingham Palace and court officials reportedly came up with multiple rules that regulated what could be written into the show's script.
Tom Bower's book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsor states: "Fearing the worst, from bitter experience, the Palace stepped in to control Meghan's life. Aaron Korsh was told to submit all future Suits scripts to Nick Collins, Meghan's agent."
According to him: "Scripts were thereafter forwarded to Kensington Palace for approval. Orders for changes of words were sent back from London to Los Angeles."

It has also been claimed Meghan might have to call in favours from her former Suits stars for her new podcast. Because the Duchess now has a "smaller pool" of friends to rely on she might have to think outside the box when she resumes her podcast with Lemonada Media.
Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius exclusively told Express.co.uk: "While Meghan’s contact list may not have completely diminished, she will certainly have a smaller pool to rely on."
She added: "Potential guests could include friends from her 'Suits' days, such as Abigail Spencer and Wendell Pierce, who likely remain accessible points of contact for Meghan."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met in 2016 and married in 2018 but the royal duo stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, and now reside in Montecito, California with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
