This Morning: The Wives star spoils ending revealing character isn't dead

Channel 5 is set to grip viewers with its new series The Wives, launching on Monday night and delving into a tale of mysterious death and family intrigue.

The six-part drama features three sisters-in-law, Beth, Sylvia, and Natasha, portrayed by Jo Joyner, Tamzin Outhwaite, and Angela Griffin, who find themselves embroiled in a chilling mystery during their annual family getaway to Malta.

This year's trip is overshadowed by the absence of Annabelle Morgan, who vanished without a trace a year ago, leaving only her phone behind on a cliff's edge, leading police to presume her dead.

As the family returns to the scene of Annabelle's disappearance, tensions rise when Charlie, Annabelle's husband, introduces his new girlfriend, bearing an uncanny resemblance to his presumed-dead wife.

Beth suspects foul play and is resolute in uncovering the truth about Annabelle's fate, reports the Mirror. Yet, it seems the show's suspense may have been prematurely unravelled as one of the stars might have accidentally spilled the beans.

During an appearance on This Morning, hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley probed for details about the plot.

Jo began to share: "There was another sister-in-law, but she has died." Tamzin interjected: "No she hasn't."

Attempting to avoid spoilers, Jo insisted that Annabelle was indeed dead, but Tamzin corrected her in front of the hosts: "She's gone missing."

An uncomfortable moment ensued as Jo faced Cat and Ben, admitting: "That's a spoiler..."

Laughter broke out on the set as Tamzin seemed oblivious to her blunder, while Ben stepped in to smooth over the slip-up.

He remarked: "Well, at the start, at the beginning we do think she's dead."

Despite a minor slip-up, fan excitement is palpable ahead of Monday night's drama.

One Twitter user said: "This looks set to be an exciting drama, well written, fantastic cast and characters to making this a must watch. Quite a spicy drama especially with the goings on in this one."

Another added: "It's gonna be good, Looking forward to this one."
