Loose Women is set to celebrate their 25th anniversary this September but Jane McDonald has revealed she will not be returning. The ITV star appeared on the show for 10 years and was loved by many.

However, she left the popular chat show back in 2014, but was tipped to return for the special episode. But since she stepped away from the show, she has gone on to front several popular shows.

Looking back at her time with the women, she explained that her group were extremely close and struck up a unique bond. She told Woman magazine that they were "a force to be reckoned with".

“Never say never. But it was a period in time when everything was different. We could get away with things that we could never do now. And it was an era of girls who were not just colleagues – we were a force to be reckoned with," she said.

Comparing her and the likes of Andrea Mclean to female icons from Sex and The City, Jane said they would also enjoy nights out and spent quality time together.

The singer added: "We were like Sex and The City when we hit the town. We’d have taken a bullet for each other. I don’t think I could go back without my friends on the same panel.”

After speculation grew surrounding her big return, Jane’s representatives previously shut down reports.

They said that she would not be taking part in the anniversary special, saying: "There are no discussions taking place with regards to Jane returning to Loose Women whatsoever.

"She always thoroughly enjoys going back as a guest and catching up with the ladies but there's no plans to go back as a panellist."

During her time on the show, Jane appeared alongside the likes of Carol McGiffin, Lisa Maxwell, Denise Welsh, Linda Bellingham and Andrea McClean.

Andrea, 54, made a surprise return earlier this month after four years away from the programme, delighting her fellow co-stars and audience members.

The presenter took part in the special episode which paid tribute to the late icon Cilla Black, who found fame on the show Surprise Surprise.

Andrea spent 13 years on the show and was the longest-serving anchor, but has since stepped aside from presenting duties

She then told the audience she would be returning again for the show's 25th anniversary celebrations in September.
