Royal family shares sweet video as they wish England best of luck

The Royal Family have wished England's football team the best of luck ahead of their Euro semi-final clash against the Netherlands tonight.

But their good luck message is slightly unusual, as it shows the Palace band playing a rendition of 'Three Lions' at today's Changing of the Guard.

Standing outside Buckingham Palace, the brass band performs to the crowds gathered outside the gates.

Sharing the 30-second-long video on social media, they said: "Wishing the best of luck to England in tonight's game!"

This evening England will play the Netherlands in Dortmund, with the winners taking on Spain in the tournament final scheduled for this Sunday.

Prince William is President of the FA and has attended many England matches so far, including their dramatic quarter-final penalties win over Switzerland. But he is not expected to head to Germany to watch the game tonight.

England manager Gareth Southgate appears to have made a decision on his squad for the match as he hopes to replicate the success of last Saturday's game.

His team's success last weekend was watched keenly by William who reacted with fist-pumping and cheering as he watched his beloved England progress to the semi-finals.

It initially looked like England would be crashing out of the Euros following Switzerland's goal towards the end of the match, however, Bukayo Saka equalised in the 80th minute sending the crowds into a frenzy.

The game went into extra time after 90 minutes, however the teams were still drawing 1-1 when it went to penalties, with England beating their opponents 5-3 after the shootout.

The Prince of Wales expressed his excitement after the match on social media, writing: "Nail biting to the very end. Well done @England! Semi-finals here we come! We believe. W."

One impressed fan said on X: "Prince William was at the England game too. Not a glory hunter - a proper fan who's there during the tough slog games when victory is by no means certain. Top man."

Another social media user commented: "A proper fan for sure. All the emotions and passion for his country" while a third chimed in: "Prince William Enjoyed it too. #ComeonEngland #EURO2024."

Following the match William headed out to meet the players, giving Saka a hug and showing his pride in his team.

On X, user, @cquiller1, wrote: "William looks so proud. He is holding Bukayo like he is George or Louis."

Football fan @dentonlass exclaimed: "That's a great Photo ..Saka played phenomenal he’s a brilliant footballer well deserved acknowledgment from our wonderful Prince William."
