The real reason why Meghan Markle could seriously struggle to make acting return

Meghan Markle would likely face major issues were she to try to relaunch her acting career now she's no longer a working royal, an expert has warned.

Since stepping back as a senior working royal with her husband Prince Harry, speculation about Meghan returning to her former career has been rife.

At present, the Duchess is focusing on her lifestyle brand and a Netflix series, but royal author Tom Quinn has suggested that an acting comeback could be in the pipeline if other ventures don't pan out.

However, it's believed that re-entering the world of on-screen entertainment could prove "very difficult" due to the significant changes since her last role approximately seven years ago.

Mr Quinn exclusively revealed to the Mirror: "Harry and Meghan have talked about the possibility of Meghan going back into acting if the couple's commercial ventures fail but things have moved on since Meghan last acted which might make it very difficult to make a comeback."

"On the other hand, there is still Meghan’s fame as a troubled Royal, which might be enough to ensure a starring role in something, but it might be something the senior royals in the UK would dread."

He added: "The deeper problem is Meghan doesn't want to go back to acting. She is in love with the idea of being a superstar entrepreneur.

"That said, Harry would offer Meghan his full support if she wanted to return to acting but Harry is something of an innocent and doesn't realise how much Meghan would have to be away filming if she did go back to acting. "

The royal author noted that any potential return to the screen for Meghan would require significant dedication from both her and Harry, who reportedly "relies on having Meghan around almost all the time" due to their close-knit family dynamic.

Speculation has been rife about whether the Duchess of Sussex might step back into her role as Rachel Zane for the eagerly anticipated Suits: LA spinoff.
