BBC The One Show's Alex Jones aims brutal swipe at co-host as he answers telling question

Things appeared to get a little frosty between The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas, as they shared what Mr Men characters they'd be.

Monday's episode of BBC's The One Show finished with a rather awkward ending.

The frosty finish came after the show's last segment, which saw Richie Anderson sit down for a chat with the son of the man who created the Mr Men and Little Miss books, Roger Hargreaves.

After Roger's death in the late '80s, his son Adam took over and kept the franchise going, and, to celebrate its success decades on, he announced he was introducing two new characters - Mr Fib and Little Miss Surprise.

The camera then cut back to The One Show studio where hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas gushed over Sam's exciting new character announcements.

The new Mr Men and Little Miss additions prompted Alex to ask her co-host a very telling question.

"Who would you be then?" Alex asked Jermaine.

As Jermaine pondered his answer, Alex jumped in and exclaimed: "Wait for it, hang on," as she held her hands up to the camera.

Jermaine shrugged it off as he laughed away, before answering: "I am going to go Mr Forgetful."

"I am constantly leaving the house and then coming back to get stuff," he elaborated.

“Oh you’ve gone humble,” Alex, seemingly surprised, responded.

"What was you expecting?" her co-host asked, before Alex yelled: "Mr Perfect," without hesitation.

Jermaine returned the question to Alex, who said: "I don't know, Little Miss Busy!"

The One Show airs week days at 7pm on BBC and is also available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
