Man United: Umtiti's a worthwhile chance to take says pundit
Manchester United won’t stump up Barcelona’s required asking price for Samuel Umtiti, reports say. The France international has been slapped with a £50million price tag ahead of the summer transfer window and could leave the Nou Camp having struggled with form and fitness over the season so far.
Manchester United have long admired Umtiti, with interest dating back to when Jose Mourinho ruled the Old Trafford roost.
Mourinho thought the France international would be a key asset for the club but, due to how important the centre-back was to Barcelona at the time, the Red Devils were never able to snap him up.
Now, the Daily Star say United have been offered the chance to sign Umtiti at the end of the season.
But the report says the club won’t be meeting Barcelona’s huge £50m asking price for the World Cup winner.
Barca need to raise funds ahead of the summer so they can pursue two big transfer targets.
