The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak divulged his favourite meal during an appearance on This Morning.
Rishi Sunak says his favourite meal is 'sandwiches' on This Morning
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak outraged This Morning viewers with his culinary admissions. Appearing on the show in advance of tomorrow's General Election, host Ben Shephard asked him what his final meal would be as Prime Minister.
This led him to admit that his favourite meal is sandwiches. Viewers were stunned and took to X to share their thoughts with one even comparing him to Paddington Bear, whose favourite food is marmalade sandwiches.
Despite the revelation he did say that he wouldn't be having the bread based snack for his pre-election dinner.
"So my favourite meal, generally, is sandwiches. I'm a big sandwich person. But actually...on election night we have a bit of a tradition.
"My local butcher, one of my local butchers called Kitsons in Northallerton High Street, always do a special election pie.
"[It's a] very good, very good pork pie with a special chutney and some and some cheese as well on top.
"And that is a traditional election night pie that I've had in all the elections I stood at," he admitted.

Mr Sunak appeared on the show directly after Britain's most tattooed mum Becky Holt and the irony wasn't lost on Ben Shephard.
"The nature of this morning we go from the most tattooed mum in the UK to the Prime Minister," he quipped.
The heavily inked woman joined Ben and Cat Deeley on the sofa wearing a skimpy thong bikini.
Just before the commercial break she had an awkward interaction with Mr Sunak, who sat across the studio, as the hosts asked him if he had any tattoos.
This Morning is on ITV weekdays at 10am.
