Manager boost for United

However, the Red Devils have been handed a welcome boost in their pursuit of Ruud van Nistelrooy with Burnley now reportedly in advanced talks with Scott Parker.

Relegated Burnley were said to have been in discussions with Red Devils-linked Van Nistelrooy following Vincent Kompany’s move to Bayern Munich.

It's spend, spend, spend once again at Stamford Bridge.

Ugarte's United request may be blocked

Manuel Ugarte may have to settle for a shirt number that is not his favoured No.4 if he opts to join Manchester United.

According to reports, Erik ten Hag's side have been given the green light by the Uruguayan and his club Paris-Saint Germain to sign him this summer.

He would be a welcome boost for the Red Devils, as Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, while it's not confirmed yet whether Sofyan Amrabat - who wear's Ugarte's favoured number - will join the club permanently.

Amrabat arrived from Fiorentina for an initial £8.5million loan fee last summer. But there is understood to be a £21.5m option to buy the experienced Moroccan, who had a mixed season at Old Trafford last year.

Liverpool 'to pay Williams' full release clause'

Nico Williams may be on his way to Anfield this summer, according to multiple emerging reports.

But the deal, should it materlise, could cause huge wider issues at Liverpool due to wages.

The Reds could be set for showdown talks with Mo Salah this summer if they press ahead with a move.

According to reports in Spain, the Premier League club are ready to pay Bilbao the required amount to activate the release clause of their key man.

The Basque side have not publicly released the clause, but it is reportedly in the region of £45million.

However, the Osasuna youth product is also also said to want wages of £300,00-a-week. That would put him just behind Salah in the list of Liverpool’s highest earners, with the Egyptian international on a deal worth nearly £350,000-a-week.

The 32-year-old put pen to paper back in the summer of 2022 following lengthy negotiations. And he could now be on a collision course with the club if Williams arrives at Anfield on the money he desires.

"Well, what can I say? What a journey it's been. 17 years of my life devoted to this club, and it's been a pleasure. I've loved every minute of my time at this football club and created some memories & friendships I'll never forget.

"When we were relegated in the 22/23 season, I felt personally responsible for my part played in that. I made it my goal to ensure we got back to the Premier League within the first season, as I know how devastating a position that can be for a club if it doesn't happen.

"I'm very proud of what we achieved together last season - creating memories of a lifetime for us all. But bigger than that, hopefully going some way to righting the wrongs of that relegation season.

"The overwhelming amount of messages I've received in the past few days has honestly touched me, and I thank each and every person for taking the time to do so; it means so much to me and my family.

"I want to thank all of the teammates I've played with, the coaches that I've worked with and fans that I've grown with.

"I'm glad I'm leaving the club with them in the Premier League, where they belong, and I wish Leicester City all the best in the upcoming season and further on.

"I'm one of your own, Leicester. But it's time for me to go now… Thanks for the ride. KDH"
