If you want to avoid the crowds and cold weather this New Year’s Eve, here is a round-up of the best TV shows on the last night of 2016.
New Year’s Eve Fireworks – BBC One, Midnight to 12.15pm
The BBC will once again cover the spectacular London fireworks live from the Thames Embankment.
Robbie Rocks Big Ben Live – BBC One, 11.25pm to midnight, then 12.15am to 12.40am
Robbie Williams will perform live at Central Hall in Westminster in the build-up to Big Ben striking midnight to see in 2017.
After the fireworks, the live concert will continue with his greatest hits and tracks from his new album the Heavy Entertainment Show.
Williams says: “I can't wait to party with London and the rest of the UK on New Year’s Eve... Let's start 2017 off with a bang!"
Jools’ Annual Hootenanny – BBC Two, 11.20pm
Jools Holland’s Hootenanny is traditional way to see in the new year if you’re staying at home on New Year’s Eve.
This year the veteran performer will welcome in 2017 with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and a host of musicians and celebrity guests.
Artists include Chaka Khan, Christine and the Queens, Roy Wood, Rag'n'Bone Man, Gregory Porter, Martin Fry's ABC, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, Seasick Steve, Caravan Palace, Imelda May, John Cooper Clarke and Hugh Cornwell and Ruby Turner.
London Fireworks 2015 - New Year's Eve Fireworks - BBC One
Alan Carr's New Year Spectacular – Channel 4, 9pm to 11.05pm
Chat show host Alan Carr will prepare for 2017 with a number of celebrities and musical performances by Professor Green and the Teiks.
Guests include EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, comedian Keith Lemon, Olympian Greg Rutherford, presenter Laura Whitmore, Sinitta, actor Will Mellor and Gemma Collins.
Peter Pan Goes Wrong – BBC One, 6.20pm
The Mischief Theatre brings the West End slapstick comedy Peter Pan Goes Wrong to the TV screen this New Year’s Eve.
Their fictional counterparts, an amateur dramatics group, face technical hitches and flying mishaps as they put on Peter Pan for the cameras.
Dragons' Den: Pitches to Riches? - BBC Two, 9pm
Relive some of the most intense moments from Dragon’s Den and catch up with former contestants as they put their business plans into action.
Pointless co-presenter Richard Osman will present the spin-off.
