Beloved Harry Potter star lands huge role in Netflix's Bridgerton as filming begins
A much-loved actress from the Harry Potter film series has been cast opposite newcomer Yerin Ha in the fourth season of Bridgerton.
Bridgerton: Netflix tease big role for Benedict in season four
Bridgerton has added some more fresh faces to the cast as production officially gets underway on the highly anticipated fourth season.
Following Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughlan) epic love story, it will be Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) turn to find his suitor when the Netflix drama returns.
In August, actress Yerin Ha was cast as the co-lead opposite Luke, portraying the enigmatic ‘Lady in Silver’, Sophie Baek.
Netflix has now announced that Bridgerton season four is now in production, expanding its filming locations to include a new backlot on Shepperton Studio.
As well as shaking up the show’s current sets to include replicas of Georgian and Regency era homes and Mayfair Street, the main cast has also greatly increased.
Joining Luke and Yerin will be Katie Leung, who’s best known for portraying Cho Chang in the Harry Potter series.
She has also starred in The Peripheral opposite Chloe Moretz, the second season of Wheel of Time and the ongoing BBC thriller Nightsleeper.
Her character Lady Araminta Gun has a rather tragic backstory but is hoping for a fresh start for her family at the marriage mart.
An official description from Netflix says: “Twice married and twice widowed, Araminta has two girls debuting on the marriage mart this season and is feeling the pressure to get at least one of them married off.

Netflix has also announced the two actors portraying Araminta’s daughters; Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li and Isabella Wei as Posy Li.
Rosamund is described as “beautiful, vain, and eager to please her mother, Rosamund is Araminta’s eldest daughter and most prized possession.
“Rosamund sets her sights on Benedict Bridgerton this season and is determined to get what she wants.”
While Posy is “Rosamund’s younger sister, the much kinder Posy is also debuting this year.
“But her mother rarely puts the spotlight on Posy, as her chatty, overly friendly demeanour often has her putting her foot in her mouth.”
The streamer has released new photos of Bridgerton’s latest leads looking stunning on the season four set.
A synopsis for the upcoming season reads: “The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson).
“Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down -- until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball.”
Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix.
