Outlander's Sam Heughan sends fans wild with latest snaps as he returns home

Outlander fans are getting increasingly excited for the Starz series’ return - and in the meantime, Jamie Fraser actor Sam Heughan has been keeping them up to date on his latest movements via social media. Sam stars opposite Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser in the historical fantasy drama.

While the second half of Outlander season 7 drops on Starz this Autumn, the cast has also been busy filming their final scenes for season 8. However, this hasn’t stopped Sam from also travelling around the UK to promote Sassenach Spirits, a spirits line he created which includes a premium blended Scotch.

Fans of the show are very loyal to its stars and are therefore extremely supportive of Sam’s business ventures. They also love hearing updates from the actor, who shared a new series of snaps on his Instagram just yesterday.

In a new post, Sam revealed he had travelled home to Dumfries and Galloway, where he was born. He shared several photos with his 4.3 million followers, including a selfie with a bottle of Sassenach gin, some delicious-looking afternoon tea, and a picture of himself enjoying a glass of the gin while showing off his latest magazine cover in Dumfries and Galloway Life.

He captioned the pictures: “Popped down to where I was born, in Dumfries and Galloway, to visit @cairndalehotelspa. Now serving @sassenachspirits Wild Scottish Gin, inspired by local Scottish botanicals.

“Make sure you check out their fabulous new spa and sip on a delicious Sassenach cocktail,” he added with a heart emoji, tagging the magazine as well as The Cairndale Hotel & Spa.

Excited fans took to the comments section to gush about his latest post, with one writing: “Congrats! Happy for you and the success you’ve achieved through your diligent effort and dedication.”

“I hope you are enjoying some downtime Sam you deserve it. Cheers,” a second fan penned, as another added: “Cheers Sam. Enjoy your downtime.”

“So wonderful Mr. Heuhgan/Coach Mr. Heughan there is no place like home. So special you are sharing and spreading your love around the world,” one more fan commented. (sic)

While The Cairndale Hotel & Spa told him: “What a pleasure to have had you with us this weekend!”

Outlander, which is based on Diana Gabaldon's books of the same name, is a long-running historical romance show that first aired back in 2014.

Caitriona and Sam, who are the two characters at the centre of the series, will soon be bidding an emotional farewell after over a decade together on-screen.

Following the closure of Lionsgate+ in the UK, new episodes of Outlander will be available on Starz and to stream on Prime Video channel MGM+ from Sunday, November 22. You must be an Amazon Prime member before you can sign up for MGM+.
