The latest teaser for Doctor Who: The Return of Doctor Mysterio shows viewers more of the villains the Time Lord (played by Peter Capaldi) will be facing up to this Christmas.
In the 30 second preview from the BBC, the Doctor meets roving undercover reporter Lucy Fletcher (Charity Wakefield) for the first time.
She is pretending to be a cleaner as she investigates a shady corporation that looks like it could have an enterprising new project that could spell the end of humanity.
Along with encountering the Gallifreyan, fans are shown shots of space ships orbiting around the Earth, suggesting a grave new threat is on the brink of an invasion.
Her cover gets blown as Lucy is being held hostage by the villainous Mr Brock (Tomiwa Edun), who is pointing a gun at her while one of his surgeons keeps a hold of her.
At one point Nardole (Matt Lucas) is seen doing a mini fist pump as the Doctor seems to avert crisis or at least have some kind of breakthrough.
However, the Doctor is not best-pleased with Nardole and promptly tells him: “Don’t do that!”

Can the Doctor save Manhattan? And what will be revealed when we see behind the mask?
In another scene Lucy is swept off her feet by the masked vigilante and superhero known only as Grant (Justin Chatwin) in a way that pays homage to Super Man.
This is the most footage seen so far from the highly-anticipated new episode, which will mark the Time Lord’s return after more than a year off screens.
A synopsis has also been released, which reads: “With brain-swapping aliens poised to attack, the Doctor and Nardole link up with an investigative reporter and a mysterious figure known only as The Ghost. Can the Doctor save Manhattan? And what will be revealed when we see behind the mask?”

Previously, a scene was aired on Children in Need in which the evil Doctor Sim (Aleksandar Jovanovic) was holding the Doctor, Nardole and Lucy at gunpoint.
The festive instalment will air on Christmas Day before Doctor Who makes a proper comeback with a full series in 2017.
Series 10 of the long-running science fiction series will see Pearl Mackie coming onboard the TARDIS as new companion Bill.
The Doctor Who Christmas special: The Return of Doctor Mysterio will air at 5.45pm on BBC One.
