The X Factor 2016: 'Are you Keith Lemon?' Phillip Schofield accuses Honey G of being fake
SPECULATION surrounding The X Factor's Honey G has been rife and during her appearance on today's This Morning even Philip Schofield questioned if the rapper was an actress.
Honey G: I've grown up on the underground music scene
Many have accused the 35-year-old of being a phoney act, and following Honey G's elimination on the X Factor last night, Phillip Schofield took it upon himself to find the truth.
After his co-host Holly Willoughby, also 35, revealed that her household is "team Honey G", Phillip asked the question burning on everyone's lips: "Are you like Keith Lemon?"
"This isn't fake, this isn't an act," the reality star - real-name Anna Georgette Gilford - hit back. "I've grown up on the underground scene, I'm known to BBC Radio One Xtra and my mum's a classical pianist - also known to the BBC.
"People keep saying this is an act, but I've got a degree in music. I think I picked up my street lingo by being on the underground music scene."

Phillip, 54, then asked the divisive hip-hop enthusiast to perform an improvised rap on the spot, before she burst out with her signature line: "When I say Honey, you say..."
Unsurprisingly, Honey G's appearance on the ITV talk show sparked a huge reaction online, with hundreds of viewers slamming the contestant on social media.
"#ThisMorning its way too early in the morning for #honeyg I've just lost the will to live. I say Honey you say where the f***s the remote," fumed one audience member, as another barked: "Omg as if Honey G is trying to claim she's an underground rap artist on @thismorning this gets worse and worse. It's so embarrassing!"

Rylan Clark-Neal claimed Honey G was 'the hardest working' X Factor contestant
Although, for every critic there was another die hard fan, with one supporter posting: "People slating Honey G, she knows what she's doing, just think of how much she's gonna earn from shouting random s**t."
The controversial act also appeared on today's edition of Lorraine, where the Scottish presenter awkwardly told Honey G that she "didn't get her".
This weekend Matt Terry, Saara Aalto, Emily Middlemas and 5 After Midnight - who will be hoping to redeem themselves after landing in the bottom two with Honey G - will battle it out for a place in next month's final.
The X Factor continues this Saturday at 8pm while This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
