Angel and Dick discuss their Escape to the Chateau tour

Angel Adoree admitted feeling "anxious" as her son Arthur makes a huge milestone ahead of their upcoming UK tour. Angel and Dick Strawbridge, who rose to fame on Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau, couldn't contain their excitement as they discussed their 2024 tour, Forever Home.

Forever Home is the couple’s biggest tour, with 33 dates starting on October 6, in Angel’s hometown of Southend-on-Sea and ending on November 17, in Brighton.

Dick and Angel's children - Arthur and Dorothy - will also be going along for the ride, and when speaking about how big the tour was, Angel laughed to Devon Live: "If you're going to do a tour, you have to do it properly."

Dick chimed in: "The best bit is it's just like a family outing," before addressing their son Arthur's milestone and whether he was able to take a break from school to go on the tour. "Arthur starts senior school and his Headmaster said, 'Yep, great, Arthur can come with us for the whole tour'. The primary schools have always been very supportive, and the headmistress there."

"Yeah, they love it," Angel agreed. "They encourage it to a fashion because there's so much knowledge that the children pick up - history, geography, just socially etc. But we were a bit anxious, especially me, I did not really..."

"The idea of Arthur not being with us for all of the tour is pretty rough," Dick explained.

Speaking about Arthur being all grown up, Angel shared an endearing moment where her son would now pat her on the head because he was so tall.

"He has started doing this thing where he would pat me on the head and go, 'Little mummy'," the designer lovingly revealed.

Turning their attention to what fans can expect on the tour, Dick and Angel shared they can't wait to come back to the UK as the engineer pointed out: "We are British living in France, we are not French and it gives us a very different mindset."

He continued: "And I've got a lot more experience of traveling around all of the UK and all the places we go to, I've been there at some stage.

"And the fact that Arthur and Dorothy, and, dare I say, Angela, because Angela is sort of a London-centric girl, we get to see the UK, and I get to show them bits they haven't seen before. So for us, that's really quite special."

Angel went on to explain that not only do they love seeing friends and family when they come back to the UK, but they also meet fans who have followed their journey for years.

She said: "When we come on tour, we see people that we have spoken to for years. You know, they might have been to a previous tour, this might be the first one, but we have this connection in this community that genuinely is very, very special.

"And we do this after every tour, every evening, we do a meet and greet, and it is about the same length as the actual performance as well."

Dick explained: "We stay until we have seen everybody who stayed behind. It is lovely because some people we've communicated with, as Angela said, through email, or met before, or the previous Chateau, or at a wedding or something, and we just get to see everybody and have a hug, so going home, we love."

The couple's tour will promise untold stories and laughs as Dick and Angel dare to do something a little different by shining the spotlight on their audience with a highly interactive show.

During this entertaining evening, contestants from every theatre will get the opportunity to win a place on stage to compete against each other for the title of their town’s Escape to the Chateau – Jack of All Trades.

Guests can expect anything and everything from icing a cake to plumbing and electrics, no task is out of bounds and it’s guaranteed to get messy.

Teasing what fans can expect from the tour, Dick shared: "I think one of the things is, you know, you've watched the Escape to the Chateau, you've seen a bit of what we do but there's so much more going on." He went on to explain that during each gig, they like to share a bit about themselves as a couple as well.

Angel added: "While a lot of people might know us or would know us from Escape to the Chateau, and they might know sort of Dick from Masterchef, or they might know me from Dragon's Den, etc, there have been so many bits that have happened in our world that goes back before we were born, and so we take everyone on a bit of a journey on how we actually got to the point of getting together and finding the chateau."
