BBC The Outlaws viewers all say the same thing just minutes into new series airing

Crime comedy drama series The Outlaws returned for it's third series on BBC One on Thursday evening.

The third series of crime comedy drama series The Outlaws began on BBC One on Monday evening, and fans all had the same thing to say just minutes into the show airing.

Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their excitement about the show returning after the second series finished airing in July last year.

One enthusiastic fan of the show expressed: "@BBCOne So pleased #TheOutlaws is back!," alongside several raising hands emojis and an excited face emoji.

Another person agreed as they wrote: "It's been a looong wait, but finally #TheOutlaws is back on @BBCOne - hurrah!," with several clapping hands emojis.

Somebody else enthused: " Cant wait for the return of @StephenMerchant's brilliant Bristol based series 'TheOutlaws' tonight at 9PM on BBC1 for it's 3rd Series."

Yet another BBC viewer said: " Take a bow Stephen Merchant, yet another amazing series and the script is hilarious #TheOutlaws."

A fifth excitedly wrote: "#TheOutlaws Here we go. Bring it on."

While a sixth added: "Easily the best show on the BBC #theoutlaws."

Ahead of the show airing, actress Eleanor Tomlinson who plays Lady Gabriella Penrose-Howe detailed filming awkward sex scenes on the show.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media at the show's press launch this month, Eleanor revealed: " We had a great intimacy co-ordinator who, at the beginning, was saying, 'I want you to take down your barriers and your boundaries, let's go round and make noises of animals'.

"'Do you know which animal has the biggest sex drive? It's a slug, so make a slug noise'."

Recalling the awkward moment, she added, laughing: "That was worse than having to do those scenes."

The Outlaws airs on Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
