Pointless Celebrities: ‘End the show’ Richard Osman makes HUGE admission moments into show
POINTLESS CELEBRITIES presenter Richard Osman made a shock admission to co-host Alexander Armstrong moments into the Christmas special of the quiz show, calling for the host to bring the episode to an end.
Pointless Celebrities: Richard Osman jokes they should end show
Richard, 48, was joined by Alexander, 48, to welcome back some familiar faces as well as some new ones for the Christmas special of Pointless Celebrities.
The stars all had one thing in connection, they all had a hit Christmas song, whether as soloist or part of a group such as Band Aid.
Alexander welcomed pop star Jamelia, 37, to the quiz show, being one of the few celebrities who had not made an appearance on the BBC show before.
However, as Jamelia spoke about her Christmas traditions, Richard told the pair they should end the show as it wasn’t going to get anymore “Christmassy".
We should just end the show there
After a warm introduction, Alexander asked the poster: “What’s Christmas like in your household?” having previously asked Jamelia about her three children.
Jamelia said: “I am the Christmas fairy of my household. I love Christmas. Christmas jumpers, Christmas trees, everything glittery.”
Wanting to narrow down what she loves most about the festive season, Alexander questioned: “What’s the one thing that swims into mind - is it about the food? Is it about the music?"
Seeming a bit cautious about the response she would get for her answer, Jamelia relied: “Without sounding really soppy, I think it’s just the fact you get to spend so much time with your family.
“Surrounded by love -I just love it,” she admitted.
However, Richard stepped in a said: “Awe, Merry Christmas everybody…We should just end the show there because it’s not going to get any more Christmassy than that.”
After receiving a barrel of laughs from the contestants and Alexander, Richard went on to ask Alexander: “Actually it is going to get more Christmassy because you’re singing at the end, aren’t you?
Alexander then went on to reveal he would be before carrying on with asking Jamelia her first question.
Having completed the first round, one pair had to leave and it was Slade band member Dave Hill, 72, and Mud guitarist Rob Davis, 71, who fell at the first hurdle.
Moving on, the second pair to leave after another round of questions included actress Sally Lindsay, 45, who topped the charts with a Christmas hit some years ago.
Sally was joined by Rodger McGough, 81, who was part of The Scaffold; a music, comedy and poetry trio.
After yet another round, it was Jamelia, who starred in Band Aid 2004, and Sonia who featured in the original Band Aid, who were next to leave.
That meant Keren Woodward, 57, and Sara Dallin, 57, from musical trope Bananarama, were the last contestants standing.
Having appears on the show several times before and failing to win the jackpot prize, the pair were hoping to be successful.
With another near defeat possible, the pair managed to bring it back and win the £2,500 prize for their charity of choice.
Host Alexander then took to the floor to perform a solemn version of Frosty The Snowman as teased by Richard earlier in the show.
