The brainchild of actress and comedian Michelle de Swarte, the show follows her character Mia, a down-on-her-luck former catwalk model, as she grapples with a life of poverty.

When is the release date for Spent?
The first episode of Spent will air on Monday, July 8, at 10pm on BBC Two. The series comprises six 30-minute episodes, with a new instalment released weekly in the same time slot.
This means that, barring any schedule changes, the final episode will air on Monday, August 12. For those who can't wait to see how the story unfolds, all episodes will be available to stream from July 8 on BBC iPlayer.
What is the plot of Spent?
Spent centres around Mia, a once-successful catwalk model now facing financial ruin and couch-surfing as her career ends and she approaches 40.
The BBC describes her as having "She may have a highfalutin' attitude and a world class skincare regime but Mia's now living on the breadline".
Despite her humble origins, Mia has become accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle that is now out of her reach.
Who is in the cast of Spent?
Actress Michelle de Swarte, who enjoyed a successful modelling career herself, working for brands such as Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and Cartier, plays the lead role of the former model in Spent.
Since then, she has ventured into comedy, featuring on Live At The Apollo, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Sky Atlantic's The Baby and Netflix's The Duchess alongside Katherine Ryan.
De Swarte will be accompanied by Juliet Cowan from Am I Being Unreasonable, playing the role of Mia's clueless mother Chrissy.
Other cast members include Delroy Brown from Scott and Bailey, Victoria Alcock from Bad Girls, and Alaa Habib from The Power.
Spent premieres on Monday, July 8, at 10pm on BBC Two.
