Duchess Sophie looks gorgeous in sunny yellow dress despite the miserable wet weather

The Duchess of Edinburgh is joining other members of the Royal Family for King Charles's official birthday parade today.

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh looks the epitome of glamour at today's Trooping the Colour. Joining members of the Royal Family for the King's official birthday parade, the royal looked the part in a stunning yellow dress.

The bright outfit stood out against the miserable wet weather that greeted them in central London, with the rain continuing to lash down during the parade.

Sophie wore a lemon dress by Beulah London, costing £625, and paired it with a Persephone Crepe hat by Jane Taylor London.

Waving to crowds from her carriage, which travelled down the Mall to Horse Guards Parade, Sophie looked like she was enjoying the pomp and circumstance of the occasion.

She was joined in the carriage by her daughter Lady Louise, while her husband Prince Edward appeared on horseback.

Fans were quick to take to social media to express their love for Duchess Sophie's outfit. Instagram user, @rebeccaerees wrote: "Great colour on Sophie."

Whereas, @joyce4523 said: "Sophie looks absolutely beautiful...love her."

Another royal fashion fan said: "Loving this shade of yellow on Sophie, she looks fab. It’s a colour that really suits Kate too."

User, @rachelhlhannam said: "Love the lemon colour. Sophie looks beautiful."

Duchess Sophie's daughter, Lady Louise, also delighted royal fans by attending today, as they were left disappointed last year when she didn't attend. Wearing a white and lilac floral dress by Suzannah and a Jane Taylor hat, Louise was pictured arriving at Buckingham Palace this morning before the King's birthday parade began and joined in with the carriage procession.

Eagle-eyed royal fans will notice that Louise chose to wear the same dress that she wore to the King's Coronation last year, but she borrowed the hat from her stylish mother.

Meanwhile, Duchess Sophie's husband, Prince Edward, looked proud today as he took part in Trooping the Colour on horseback for the second year in a row.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is Colonel of the London Guards, wore his uniform and rode in the parade for the second annual celebration of King Charles's birthday. He has been Royal Colonel of the London Regiment since 2011.

Last year, Edward was joined by the King himself, their sister, Princess Anne and their nephew, the Prince of Wales. Also the previous year, Charles was the first monarch in more than 30 years who rode on horseback at Trooping the Colour in 2023.

Trooping the Colour, a major fixture in the royal calendar is held annually as an official birthday event for the monarch, even though Charles's actual birthday is on November 14.

It is one of the biggest military ceremonies of the year, featuring more than 1,600 soldiers and musicians plus more than 200 horses.
