Princess Anne will only listen to three members of the Royal Family in order to "behave" in hospital, according to medics who previously treated her.

In light of the Princess Royal's recent admission to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after suffering minor injuries from a reported horse kick, stories about one of her previous ordeals have come to light.

One of these stories was when she was admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary back in 2016, after sustaining a chest infection.

Hospital staff who treated the King's sister claimed that she "constantly wanted to get up and go home".

But it was only when three members of the Firm were brought in that she followed the medical team's advice.

These were her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, and her two children, Peter Philips and Zara Tindall, according to the Mail.

One nurse told the outlet: "She wasn't a good patient... [She] thought she wasn't really ill and constantly wanted to get up and go home.

"The best advice is to keep her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, or one of the children [Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall] on hand."

The medical worker added: "They're the only people who can tell her to behave.

"Once she was home, she was generous with thank you notes, flowers, and a charitable donation."

It comes as Sir Tim gave a fresh update on his wife's health after visiting her for nearly two hours in Bristol. He told the media: "She's doing fine, slow but sure."

He was wearing an open-collar shirt and blazer, and carrying what appeared to be a blue coolbag as much of the nation swelters in the first heatwave of the year.

Later, Zara was also pictured visiting her mother, sporting casual attire.
