All the secrets behind Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster's wedding to Olivia Henson have been revealed, from local flowers to historic tiaras.

The couple got married on Friday at Chester Cathedral with 400 guests in attendance and thousands more lining the streets to catch a glimpse of their big day.

The cathedral is close to Eaton Hall, the Grosvenor's family home and reportedly where the newlyweds will live. A spokesman for the cathedral said "it means a lot" to the couple to be able to tie the knot there.

He explained before the service: "It means a lot to them to marry in Chester Cathedral, especially given the Grosvenor family's long and close personal connection to both the cathedral and the city of Chester.

"The couple have also been moved by the messages of support they have received from around the region and are hugely grateful that people want to share in their happiness."

It has also been revealed that flowers for the ceremony were sourced through the Flowers from the Farm Network, and will now be made into bouquets for local charities, churches, and other organisations.

There were also special cars involved, which could be a nod to Hugh's plans as a married man. The groom arrived in a green Land Rover Defender, popular among farmers and estate owners.

This comes after friends of the couple told The Telegraph that he was looking to settle down to the "farming life of a country gentleman" as he has "a genuine love of the land"

He is one of the UK's largest landowners and the president of the Country Trust charity which helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds get into farming.

Olivia also had some impressive details in her look, particularly in the veil designed by Emma Victoria Payne. It incorporated parts of her great-great-grandmother's veil, dating back to around 1880. The flowers she held were also picked from the gardens of Eaton Hall.

The bride also wore the traditional Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara, made just for Grosvenor brides to wear on their wedding day and has been in the family since 1906.

Royal jewellery expert The Court Jeweller said it was designed to resemble a wreath of laurel or myrtle - a traditional wedding flower.

Olivia did however decide to go against tradition with her choice of footwear, opting for a blue pair of Valentina 100 Riviera heels by Silvia Lago.

Finally, after the ceremony the guests were taken by coach to Eaton Hall for more celebrations featuring a lemon wedding cake at the afternoon reception followed by an evening party, which was kept under wraps.
